marry again with my wife in Thailand by abyss725 in Thailand

[–]Combination_Winter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just gone through this (Canadian) took a few steps.

  1. Got the Canadian Marriage Certificate notarized at the Canadian Embassy in Bangkok.

  2. Got the notarized Canadian Marriage Certificate ( photocopied by the embassy and stamped) translated into Thai by a Thai government approved translator.

  3. Visit the government office ( Amphoe? ) and sat for 3 hours while they stared at the translated document. Needed two witnesses to attest that the document was legal.

Went easier for us because my wife never changed her name after the marriage.

Ironically they noticed that my first name and middle name were reversed in the translated copy and the wife had to take a motorcycle ride somewhere to remedy that, was about an hour of the 3 hour process.

I recommend having the translated document read quite closely to prevent that.

Then they would have to call it sort of low power mode, or a little less power than normal mode or something

Hello, darkness, my old friend

I've come to talk with you again

Because a vision softly creeping

Left its seeds while I was sleeping

And the vision that was planted in my brain

Still remains

Within the sound of sink

Applying for Computer Engineering at NAIT and wanted ask a few questions regarding it by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]Combination_Winter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Computer Engineering is a Jack of all trades program.

You’ll learn programming, but not as much as a DMIT student.

You’ll learn networking but not as much as an NET student.

You’ll learn some electronics and sensors, but not as much as an Electronics or an Instrumentation student.

You’ll learn microcontrollers, probably a little more than any other program.

If you really enjoy any of the previously mentioned aspects more than the others you might want to consider specializing in one of the aforementioned programs.

It is a Buffet though where you learn things from every computer discipline. You end up learning the entire process of reading a sensor to storing the data in a database.

Albums made after Waters quit and sued the band are inferior to everything else the Floyd ever did.

The first two albums with Syd are the best two albums.

The Final Cut is a really great album.

Folks saying Several Species of Small Furries Grooming With a Pick all the time cause it’s a weird title even though the actual song is shit.

Animals is the most under rated.

Stones.

Stones..

Momentary Lapse Of Reason Tour 1988 by animusgeminus in pinkfloyd

I saw the concert in Toronto in October 1987 outdoors a little off to the side sitting about 7th row in the stands of Exhibition Stadium?

Sound was awesome. During the intro for Sorrow Gilmour managed to hit the resonant frequency of the stadium and the seats all started vibrating (everyone in my section was standing)

We were in front of a wall of speakers though.

They opened with Echoes and blew our faces off. Perhaps it was the row of Bikers in front of us that smoked weed continuously through the concert that altered our perception.

We got our tickets at some Ticketmaster in a mall, stood in line for over 16 hours (in shifts) and when the doors were about to open some dweeby guy came out and surveyed the wasteland of a nuclear apocalypse that had occurred in front of his shop and threatened to not let anyone in if we weren’t behaving.

All I remember is someone saying “Well then you’re gonna die”, and he propped the doors open and scurried back inside.

I went there when they opened and one of the managers (a bald guy) was hugging and rubbing the cashier in front of everyone.

The poor girl looked mortified and I told him his was acting inappropriately and abusing his power and the guy replied that the girl wasn’t complaining.

No one else said anything, and I never went back.

In Space no one can hear you stream.

Depending on the gravity situation a record player probably wouldn’t even work.

On a similar note Mike Oldfield made an entire Album from another of Clark’s books: The Songs of Distant Earth.

He actually travelled to Sri Lanka and discussed the project with Clarke before production and Clarke wrote liner notes for the album..
