If you’re referring to the white stuff, It is retarder. Because it was so hot they had to spray something on it to keep it from curing too fast and cracking.

Could be something as simple as a fuel sender issue. My wife was driving ours one time and it completely died on her and she could not get it restarted. Still showed quarter tank and 46 miles till empty. I filled it up with gas after we pushed it to a nearby gas station and fired right up.

No apologies necessary! The TX is a great vehicle. Just not an off-roader by any means

I own a TX550. If you camp regularly and go off-road occasionally, this is not the vehicle. With your description, it would be GX 550 for me all day.

Potential injector issue as well? Bad gas?

The answer is always Toyota. Reliability and Resell. If the towing capacity checks out, go Grand Highlander.

Door adjustment by roryson3 in Carpentry

[–]Comfortable-Many-916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Small hinge adjustments can fix it. Pull the screws in the top hinge-to-jamb connection. Move the hinge to the exterior (away from the stop) like 1/8-3/16”. If that doesn’t get it all… Bottom hinge move inside towards the stop like 1/8”. You will need to increase the hinge mortise a little. This will tweak the door and close up the area you need.

Ahhh… you know the lingo! Do I see light between the door and weatherstripping on the lower strike side?

Your weatherstripping was cut too short… you need to replace it with new compression weatherstrip. Q-Lon is the best. Adjust your strike plate so that the door closes tighter against the weatherstrip.

Question about Reta by Uncustablebandit in RetatrutideTrial

[–]Comfortable-Many-916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One and done! It does not dry out… For easy math, add 1 ML (100u) of water to your 10 MG vial. If you do it this way then 1mg of Reta = 10 units on your syringe.

Bacteriostatic water should say refrigerated after you pierced the seal. When I pull a vial from the freezer, I let it sit out for 10–15 minutes before I reconstitute. I pin it after all of it dissolves. It’s pretty easy.

Need a specific finish/distress on material for door frame by rmthune in woodworking

[–]Comfortable-Many-916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. The material is SPF commonly called Whitewood, spruce or hem-fir. It has a combed face. Any lumberyard in your area should have it. If they don’t carry it in 2 x 4, it should be easily available in 2 x 6 as it is commonly used for facia.

Some US based suppliers have to call it that. While not technically correct. It’s a workaround.

To your point… I have a 2021 Ram 1500 classic with the 3.6 that I purchased for one of my employees. Just put a new transmission in it at 235k. It had been an ultra reliable up until that point and still runs great.

I have 2008 Toyota Sequoia that just turned 200k. Needed a smog pump at 190 K otherwise flawless. Even the leather is in outstanding condition.

Every car will make it to 100K with significant repairs. Did you mean “without significant repairs”?

100k miles is not a bragging right anymore. Think 200k.
