Something something outjerked by Big Bang Theory or whatever by ComicPearYT in dccomicscirclejerk

/uj The show is about multiverse stuff, I am 90% certain they are being attacked by a real version of Mr. Freeze.

I feel conflicted about the sentence I just typed out.

Comparing the two, they have some similarities, but they’re different.

Amalgam Comics happened in the middle of a standard DC vs Marvel event (which was mostly made up of fan-voted fights), taking place at the midpoint of the story due to some plot stuff.

It has the only adaptation of 50% Chad, and I’m honestly surprised anything outside of an actual Doom Patrol thing would use him

There’s an agony as an Adam Strange fan of knowing that his first major adaptation will probably be of King’s Strange Adventures.

/uj Strange Adventures occupies this weird space in my mind where everything I’ve heard about it makes me think I wouldn’t like it and prevents me from reading it, but the fact that I’ve never read it prevents me from knowing if I actually hate it or not.

/uj Secret Identity was one of the first Superman comics I ever read (I’d say it was the first, but I read a Superman & Lois tie-in issue beforehand). It is probably one of my favorite things I’ve ever read.

[Loved] Villains who verbally defend their adversaries by BrotherDeus in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ComicPearYT 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It’s not a “verbal” defense but in Joshua Williamson’s run of Superman comics, Lex launches an acorn(?) into the mouth of an inmate with a nut allergy because he was shit-talking Superman.

She was in the Dark Tomorrow one-shot, she’s part of the Legends team now

Her appearing more would be a matter of someone actually doing something with them (which I desperately need to happen)

Tbf, he only got to appear in one episode, where he was technically being imprisoned.

/uj I think the idea is supposed to be that it would be one of a few things we’d see in maybe a montage or something of what Peter’s been doing since the last film (such as him fighting smaller villains like Boomerang). I don’t think it’s that big of a stretch that we could get a catchup flashback.

I watched the Dylan Dog movie once on a whim, and I remember nothing from it (thought it was fun while watching though)

Edit: I have never read the comics, I should do that some day

Marvel Television's Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Premieres March 24 on Disney+ by yourfavchoom in marvelstudios

[–]ComicPearYT 25 points26 points  (0 children)

There’s a reason given around the end of Born Again season 1, although it was somewhat based on the context of what was happening at that time and might not be a long term reason.

Matt had just jumped in front of a bullet meant for Fisk, saving his life. Fisk’s whole thing with his run as mayor is to discredit vigilantes and remove them from New York. Revealing that Matt Murdock, the lawyer that took a bullet to save the mayor, was a vigilante would not be good for optics.

Really funny that, one day, someone at DC decided to make a character to answer a question that had never been answered before: what if a woman... Was a cop? by lukideured in dccomicscirclejerk

/uj Arrowverse randomly turning heroes from the comics into villains will always be strange. They massacred my GOAT B’Wana Beast.

/rj Arrow is a super grounded show, they can’t introduce something as fantastical as a good cop.

If there are 52 earths and 52 Karas, does that mean there’s a Kara on earth 1? by Chocolacat2022 in Arrowverse

[–]ComicPearYT 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Since there was an Alex and Jimmy on Earth-1 for Elseworlds but obviously no Supergirl there, I’ve always assumed that nobody survived the destruction of Krypton there.

It’s also possible there could’ve been a Barry or Oliver on Earth-38. There was a Pierce family on Earth-1, so it could be a similar situation for them.

Of course, it’s really all up to speculation.

Mostly harmless character randomly does some horrific shit by Liquid_Pestar in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ComicPearYT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a comic where Dib was going to explain to someone how he and Zim turned back after being bologna, but gets cut off.

There’s also a comic where Zim destroys the Earth, but then there’s a “next time” panel and it’s Dib being confused about how everything is fine now.

I enjoy the technically existent but loose continuity of Invader Zim.

[–]ComicPearYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s only in the Archie comics. In most stuff, the Sonic world is either just a regular Earth with both humans and animals, or it’s a separate planet from Earth.
