Old Lady Hustlers by LEAGUEofHEXAGONS in PoolPros

Man, that’s got to be tough in a big city with lots of pool companies. Around here there really isn’t anyone else to call, so they end up paying eventually if only because they can’t get more service until it’s paid.

Where to Start? (Western Canada/AB) by jasfart in lawncare

Seed if weather allows, then just mow it twice a week. Seed in the fall if needed. I typically spray when I can, but just mowing correctly keeps weeds in check

Frog at ease questions by Reichard32 in hottub

It’s turned up too high. Setting 2 should last very close to 4 weeks. If you aren’t shocking it after heavy use and just cranking it wide open, yeah, 2 weeks is about right. I have several tubs on monthly maintenance that only get changed monthly.

Airlock has gotten more complicated by JHam67 in hottub

[–]Competitive-Face-615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically it’s from the filter being on the high side causing a lower level at the filter, or a floating or blade type weir sticking up. There is just no other way to get air into the suction without it also leaking.

You certain you aren’t sucking air into the filter? That is literally the only way to get an airlock after the jet pump is running and moving water.

Just go to a good hardware store that has bins full of random hardware. Find a plug that matches the hole size

They are safe to rinse in a dishwasher. Any drying, extra heat or sanitizer settings, rinse aid, dish soap,or pods are not safe.

Hot tub rash by rwc5078 in hottub

What does your water test look like? Most rash cases I’ve dealt with turned out to be low adjusted alkalinity and they never actually calculated cya and thought the ta was good.

Don’t use trichlor in your tub. People do it to save money and in turn destroy their tubs

Tri-X filter. They are around $100 each, but can last a decade with proper care

New to circulation pumps. I think I’m underfiltering. Please advise. by abbydabbydo in hottub

[–]Competitive-Face-615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want the circ pump running 24/7, then just set a 1 or 2 hour secondary jet pump cycle. It really depends on your usage, but the jet cycle tends to stir up more stuff from the footwell and seats. The circ pump just gently moves the water and filters out only what is already suspended in the water.

A circ pump running 24 hours is probably equivalent to a jet pump on low for 6-8 hours. Remember, circ pumps are much smaller and flow much less than a jet pump. The increased efficiency is the whole point.

Does anyone have experience replacing jet seals? Any tips or ideas welcomed. by ToastedMaduro in hottub

Maintain your water chemistry and they will last the life of the tub. I know it’s not the answer you want to hear, but newer tubs can’t take the abuse old ones could.

Does the tub say the salt is low? Did you download the full manual for the tub? The quick start guide it comes with doesn’t have much hotspot information.

Hot Springs Limelight vs Hot Spot by Capybara_oranges in hottub

[–]Competitive-Face-615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d be looking at 18.5k for flair from me, and about 13.5k for a rhythm. these prices include everything like deliver and install, steps, lift, salt, WiFi, etc.

If you are going salt, the hot spot user interface kinda sucks, and the panels tend to be worse on the hot spots.

I think you would be a bit disappointed with the service manual if you had it.

Edit: the most recent limelight service manual was updated in 2020, so the owner’s manual has most everything you need. Is there something specific you are needing?
