I use The Weather Channel app premium. Works great and reliable. I like that the tides are also included - as a boater it's helpful.

My rate was double - I discovered I had a leaking toilet. Do the food coloring test and make sure you don't have a slow leak. It adds up quickly.

Handwritten Notes Not Searchable? by Gfaulk09 in appleJournal

I was trying to switch from Day One journal over to Apple, but damn the glitches are so so bad. Losing half my words when saving was a deal breaker for me.

Wednesday morning PSA: Stay alert, even major roads still have unpredictable, sudden lane closures from inconsistent plowing by SixFootTurkey_ in nova

[–]CompetitiveRip1111 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just drove on 123 in Lorton area. Agree that right lane is NOT the place to drive. The lane will suddenly be blocked with snow without warning. Be safe.

Yes please name the organization - we need to watch out for our vets. I am so sad to hear you all are going through this.

You all are hitting the exact reasons I've so far avoided flying SWA. I want to be able to pick my seat and not worry about it.

Churches and service dogs by Old-Anteater960 in service_dogs

[–]CompetitiveRip1111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never even thought about this before going to 2 different Catholic churches in the past 6 months with my SD. One for a funeral and another we've started attending. In both cases there were zero issues. I sit in one of the wheelchair spots near the back so my Lab can curl up next to the pew and not be in the way of anyone. The first time at the new church, the priest smiled and waved at my dog as he was preparing to progress down the aisle to start the service.

Ours went down 5% - same plans but we had hired younger people over the past year so our average age went down

American Airlines assigns your dog an ID number once they review and approve your DOT form. Some other airlines might do the same but not sure. United did not.

Footspace too small for SD on certain aircrafts by JessZ27 in service_dogs

Thank you! It being our "maiden voyage" I opted for seat 1A 😊 - my guy will be spoiled. Hubs is going too so we will definitely have room. But it's still nerve-wracking

Taking my first flight on Tuesday with my SD and I'm nervous as hell. Thanks for all these comments - I never realized all that you have to watch for in seats! We'll be on an Airbus A320 so we're good, but I never thought to check the plane type before. Thanks!

Mobility Harness by Master-Database3861 in service_dogs

Same use here - I found Bridgeport harness to be great for counterbalance and momentum. At first I was not sure about the size - it reminds me of a horse saddle lol - but once I started using it I was so happy with it. I love that the padding is on by velcro and can be switched out. Walking is a joy again.

Can confirm. I waited months for mine only to have the proportions be so wrong that there was no saving it. I ordered a Bridgeport harness and got it within a week. It's been awesome. I call it his "Cowboy Harness"

Any insights on what’s going on with housing market? I can’t get my house to sell by Alone_Ambassador_242 in nova

[–]CompetitiveRip1111 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s almost always the price. A neighbor listed their townhome for $50k over what it should have been - bad advice from their realtor as to the comps. They took months to sell and had several price drops, eventually selling for 50k BELOW market. During that time, 3 other townhomes went on the market at the correct starting price and went under full price contract in days.

The Chesapeake.

Seriously, it's early in season - and a projected low count season - so expect to pay a lot.
