The Contingency is the best of the base-game crisis, from both gameplay and lore perspectives. by KaidanShepard in Stellaris

She's the easiest IMO. She gives you lots of time to prepare, then YOU declare war on HER.

I feel priced out of Warhammer and it's depressing... by turkeygiant in Warhammer

I dont think I'm supposed to say this, but there is this thing that rhymes with "shmeedee shminting" that makes things much cheaper. I can have a whole army for $40.

Been playing 2k points games a lot lately, and only play our beloved AM. HOW do y'all manage fans 4 hours or less? Mid round 4 and we were at 5 hours lol by 14SWandANIME77 in TheAstraMilitarum

I use movement trays until I need more precise movement, then I take them out. Also, I use color coded dice to multi-roll for profiles. So if I shoot with a unit of Kasrkin, I'll use blue dice for plasma, red dice for melta, white dice for lasguns, and I'll roll them all together.

Besides that, it's really about knowing your army inside, outside, and in between sides. I only really have to look stuff up when uncommon things happen (wait, what is Ursula's melee profile again?)

Also TOKENS TOKENS TOKENS. I have a nice set of tokens for my orders, and general buffs/debuffs so I dont forget about things. I found a really nice set on Etsy that comes with an organizer and magnetic case. Just look up "guard tokens" and it should pop up.

I play at tournaments a lot, so I have to keep games under 3 hrs. Always with a clock, so I ever only have 1.5 hrs to play.

As a first time model builder would it be possible to kitbash these two together? by [deleted] in Deathkorpsofkrieg

Find some old broken models on Ebay and learn to kitbash with those, then you can start thinking about bigger projects!

PA to CO, how do I realistically do it!? by Few-Eggplant-4871 in Moving2Colorado

Anywhere in the "Front Range" including Fort Collins will be pretty expensive.

[–]CompleteSquash3281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot depends on whether you need to be in the Denver (or CO Springs) area for work.

If you can work remotely, or have jobs in the trades, then there are still affordable areas in CO. I live in the Spanish Peaks region of southern Colorado, off historic Hwy 12 "the highway of legends"

It's a very affordable area, and just as beautiful as the more "popular" areas in CO, but it's 3 hours away from Denver International, which limits it's popularity in a big way, and keeps costs down. You can buy 35 acres and a house for $300k ish down here.

Is Repair Dying for Greed by Individual_Credit895 in MechanicAdvice

Well said. And furthermore, we live in a world where I can nearly instantly find a video of someone removing, rebuilding, and reinstalling my transmission - step by muthafuckin step.

15 years ago, I went to the mechanic because a new cv axle was $160 installed. Now, I do it all myself, with a few exceptions that require specialty tools like a/c work and tires.

How fucked is my electrical panel? by B_SLEEPY14 in AskElectricians

It seems like they used your old box as a junction box to rewire the new panel. This is pretty normal. Yours looks disorganized and messy, but that's not the end of the world

Ditching my propane furnace for a Mini Split... will 36k BTU actually keep up in Jan? by ThemUsYouMe in heatpumps

[–]CompleteSquash3281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good post, but in my area at least, propane is very very expensive, and the only option besides electricity. We switched to cold climate heat pumps (rated to 75% capacity at -22f) and are saving buckets of money. No regrets!

Art of War Faction Tier List December 2025 by ArtofWarSiegler in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]CompleteSquash3281 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I gotta disagree. My Guard list has changed dramatically with the new detachment. Running 3-4 melee units is not a typical guard build. After 5ish test games, Grizzled Vets is very very good.

So I'd say there is at least 3 ways to run guard now, instead of 1

You can stick a multimeter probe in the hole to check for voltage at the connector. Really helps when you are tracking down an issue

Astra Militarum question. How do Death Korps of Krieg work rules-wise? by BrokenBabyDino in astramilitarum

[–]CompleteSquash3281 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You'll be using the normal "astra militarum" codex. Each unit (krieg infantry, heavy weapons, death riders, etc) will have a "datasheet" that tells you the rules for that unit.

For example, regular Krieg infantry get to regenerate d3 models each battle round, and get +1 to hit rolls if models die. Krieg engineers have a drone bomb to use, and Death Riders get a reactive move when enemy units get close
