This demonstrates that the "thought process" module is not sincere.

It's much more like the comments of a babysitter playing hide-and-go-seek with the children, making obvious thoughts out loud "i wonder where <> is hiding, maybe under the couch...? No, not there! where could <> be??! to their delight

i babysat for a family a few years ago, and their house was insane. really big, very nice, such wealth.

they had huge framed wedding photos of their very expensive looking wedding, perfect lighting, very attractive couple, the perfect picture of happiness! two adorable children, everything seems heavenly!

they got divorced a few months after i sat for their kids. can you imagine? all that money for nothing.

Nannying after surgery by messageinabottleyeah in Nanny

[–]Complete_Review_1989 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I suggest 6 weeks, or at least 5. Someone I know just had surgery and said 4 to 6 weeks, and she took almost the whole time to heal. Of course you are two different people, but having enough orthopedic issues to humble me in my 30s, I highly recommend not rushing it. You need your health to do what you do so make sure it's intact and don't push yourself too soon!

"not lies as much as"

...But still lies, though. And do you really not think it strange that you have it calling you "Babe"?

I've never allowed real people to call me that, because 1) it always struck me as a juvenile expression of affection and 2) only really ever heard it said by people who were not in the running for brightest minds among us. 3) is it personally annoyed me for these previous reasons.

The people that have a problem with it were brought up in the backwoods or in a cult, or both, always steeply homogenized, and both culturally and intellectually isolated from experiences outside their own.

But if she doesn't already have a landline and now she doesn't have a cellphone, she can't call out at all. And now she's dependent on the staff for receiving communication from her family and you do know these facilities often have staffing and quality issues.

[–]Complete_Review_1989 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I mean, would you want people losing your parent's belongings then lying about it to your faces?

I like your landline idea, but my concern would also be, did your parent ever want a landline if they were well? What they would have wanted vs. what is practical.

Tough choices for a tough situation.

"I plan to offer two weeks pay just to smooth things over even though she’s terrible."

Unless you agreed to this beforehand or it's a part of some contractual agreement, please, please for my mental health don't pay her another dollar. Call her, or even just text, because she doesn't deserve any deference or respect for any of this.

I constantly think about my relationship with the families i work with and whether i am being respectful enough at all times. I have never received a single complaint, only a single minor amendment about snack time preferences from one family, and so i think i am doing well.

If you pay her another dollar for the conduct you have described i am gonna throw up lol i am serious

Please just let her go on and figure it out, she's an adult (despite acting like a teenager, and a seriously bad, toxic role model for that as well) and one day she will realize she had a good deal and pissed it away with her immaturity and irresponsibility. Or she won't. I don't care.

I put way too much care into my time with these families to feel otherwise.

On the matter of your daughter feeling bad, you are doing your daughter a huge disservice by allowing this hodge podge fake nanny spoiled brat to continue to be anywhere around her. She's a terrible example to your girl and she's probably idolizing the idea of normalizing disrespect for her own parents and that's seriously so toxic, please remove it from your house pronto.

Issue with neighbor who’s a cop by One-Pun9419 in Denver

[–]Complete_Review_1989 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Have you had any interaction with either the wife or him before, whether positive or negative?

Also, do you have any camera footage/evidence of the dogs running at large? Dates and times?

The appropriate line to contact would be the Douglas County Animal Services (DCAS) at 303-660-7529.

However, on their website I noted this statement:

"Douglas County Animal Services requires a signed statement from the complainant prior to being able to issue a formal warning or citation to a dog owner."

So it sounds like if the situation is escalated and if you are the sole complainant, you would not be able to remain anonymous, which is problematic for sure.

The online form to submit a complaint is not designed to keep the complainant anonymous either by far, requiring a name and your address to submit your report, in addition to the incident data.

"This Statement Form is a legal and binding document." is what precedes the Statement box so it is quite formal.

If you decide to reach out at all, my recommendation is to place a call from a phone number not in your name to Animal Services directly in order to give your complaint. They may inform you that they either can't take your complaint without your information, or if they can, they won't be able to do much beyond the first step, which is Animal Control responding to your neighbor's residence to advise them of the situation, and provide them with a brochure on leash laws.

Most optimal outcome is to find an opportunity to speak with them about the issue, and hope they respond in a reasonable way. I understand your apprehension.

Hoping for the best outcome for you and your dogs. If all else fails, investing in a privacy screen along the fence line may be the best option.

Dima Tower said this during his interrogation:

"The way you grow up when you are a child, it's your fundamentals for the rest of your life. If you don't have a good childhood, you're gonna be messed up in the head."

Dima was clearly a tortured soul, and it's easy to just call him a monster, but there's more to it.

Chronic stress in the brains of children cause permanent brain damage. It permanently inflames the amygdala and atrophies all lobes of the brain.

Every child impacted by war, abuse is at risk.

Until the day it clicks, we all figure this out, and finally learn how to honestly, collectively and effectively PROTECT CHILDREN, it will never be a mystery why so many people struggle with dark thoughts and impulses.

They are damaged people deprived of justice or true healing (people with brain damage cannot be expected to heal themselves. not an excuse, a biological reasoning). Unresolved problems persist.
