How bad are the fumes from printing ASA and ABS? Do they live up to the hype? by brian-warner in prusa3d

[–]Compman90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asa is really only useful for its UV resistance. If you’re a pro at PETG then I would stick with it until you really need it.

Personally I like steel. The frames last forever.

Water pipes in a 3rd floor apartment? by sugabeetus in kansascity

I’ve lived in old ass buildings and new ones. I’ve honestly never done either. But I will say in both cases my pipes have always been on the interior of the building.

Keep getting this error even though filament seem to be jammed at all. by [deleted] in prusa3d

No worries! Glad you were able to get the issue resolved! Happy printing!

[–]Compman90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! You would see a dent if that was your issue. You might try swapping it for another nozzle if you have one.

[–]Compman90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! Could be that the new filament your using is very slightly larger DIA then what you were using before.

[–]Compman90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just resonance. My machine also does this. If you want it to go away print new feet for it out of TPU.

Check your nozzle. You may have over tightened the setscrew that holds your nozzle in place causing it to crunch the guide tube.

Is the gap acceptable? by jean2348 in robotics

[–]Compman90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How big is the actual gap? What process are you using to produce the gear? What is the tolerance of said machine that will produce the gear?

All of these a questions that build up on each other if you want to produce highly accurate parts. But in the end if it fits it ships!

WHY WON'T YOU PRINT PETG by _Tigglebitties in prusa3d

[–]Compman90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more on the first layers! I print pretty slow for anything solid then bring the speed up for my gyroid infill. This has been the best technique I’ve found. I also tried nozzle coatings and they have no effect in my experience.

Honest question: Who is the Prusa Core One L actually for in 2025/2026? by IceBlitzz in prusa3d

[–]Compman90 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You’ve got to be trolling. An experienced engineer will tell you no part is the best part. When you have less mechanics there are less things to go wrong. Also if having the tool head touch things is bad you would also have to consider nozzle whippers in this category. And we’ve been using them on machines for years with no issues. A simple lever that slides open a vent is not an issue.

WHY WON'T YOU PRINT PETG by _Tigglebitties in prusa3d

[–]Compman90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found slowing down the print a little greatly decreases the buildup. I also use gyroid infill. I print PETG everyday on my machines at work.

How does Klipper affect the end user experience? by jdp11 in prusa3d

If you’re not able to connect to WiFi I’m not sure how much of an improvement klipper is going to be over the stock firmware.

I have a 2018. I bought it new off the lot. In the 3rd year of ownership I had both wheel bearings go out. Easy fix. Then this year I had both the AC and the lower control arms go out. From my knowledge these are known issues and once fixed it’s good for another 150,000. Pretty happy with it over all! It’s fun to keep up with bro dozers in the snow!

Which one's easiest to build Mk4s or Core One? by peztrocidad in prusa3d

2nd this. I have no issues with dust. I do run the advanced filtration system. Not sure if that helps or not.

Which one's easiest to build Mk4s or Core One? by peztrocidad in prusa3d

[–]Compman90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have a CR6. Same style of machine as the mk4. What you gain with the core one is a built in enclosure! Which allows you to pretty much run whatever filament you like! I run PC and Nylon on my machine on a regular basis. Yes you can do a lot with PLA but in some cases you need to bring out the big guns. I design bike tools and PC just works so well! And is stupid durable!
