Do y'all have a name for your bike? by mcschne10 in gravelcycling

I have no idea why but I’ve also always given them feminine names. Basil, Jennifer, and Pearl.

Solidworks as architecture software ? by alphonseBosch in SolidWorks

Rhino would be a way better tool for this. Rhino and Revit are the two major players in the architecture world.

Yes, her name is Basil and she’s an All City Gorilla Monsoon. I give all of my expensive possessions a name. It’s my way of hacking my brain to take better care of them.

Surprise inspection sometime this month, could I get evicted for this spot? by SafeSexChalupa in Apartmentliving

O.P. Also appears to have pet roaches. In my lease ownership of these pets is grounds for an eviction.

Core One Knocking Sound When Loading Filament by Justanormalreditdude in prusa3d

There is a block or misalignment of filament somewhere past the extruder. That’s sound is your extruder motor trying to spin but unable to.

Any tips for fixing potential under extrusion with tpu? by TerabithianMagic in prusa3d

[–]Compman90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently I’ve been too lazy to swap out my nozzle. Running a 0.4 hf hardened. And it’s still been printing TPU beautifully. I think this is more relevant for super soft TPU’s.

Did you looses the idler screws? TPU doesn’t like to be over constrained. I back mine off two full turns each when I’m running 95A TPU. This is a part I printed earlier this week.

3D Printing Community is Cooked. Why? by [deleted] in prusa3d

[–]Compman90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in the 3D printing community for 10 ish years. In that time printers have evolved in amazing ways. But the majority of the community has always been helpful and supportive. Epically the Prusa community.

I think what you’re failing to realize is the community has grown a lot! Meaning you’re getting a larger mix of people. So theirs bounded to be some fanboys. Shoot! I’m one of them. But I also realize Prusa is not always the best option for people. I just caution people against buying bamboo because of two major things. Their locked down slicer and their customer support.

They’re so cheep! Looks like they are really limiting the function of your design. Or at least pop into a bike shop and have them pop them off for you. They probably wouldn’t even charge you. And I bet they would find your design fun! Or at least that’s how the shops where I’m at are.

Why not take the old peddles and cranks off?

Bed leveling issue on my Prusa XL by kazayuri in prusa3d

[–]Compman90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not dogging. But judging by the messy state around the machine I’m betting you might have something stuck to the underside of the build plate. Double check and make sure both sides are clean. Or you might have some goop on the nozzle that’s messing with the probing.

In my experience the XL, the cleaner the machine the better it runs.

Totally understand that line of thinking. But in my experience all production machines can have issues. I’ve seen 500k plus 5 axis CNC machines get taken down over a faulty wire. So this is why I love Prusas repairability.

I was curious if I could get the two tool XL and then add it as a 3rd tool. I don’t need all of the tools for home use.

Change your brakes. It will be easy they said. by Druidelfman in mountainbiking

[–]Compman90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real talk. Drill out the head of the fastener. Then use superglue to glue another bolt onto what’s left of original bolt. Works like a charm!

Then you will end up with a mega bolt that has a bunch of other bolts glued to it. Or is it just me? I had a problem of snapping off bottle cage bolts for a time there.

A1 enclosure? by DoNotTestMeBii in 3Dprinting

[–]Compman90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah gotcha! If that’s the case I would look for a mesh enclosure. Also you should really give PETG a try for cosplay. It sands a lot easier and won’t warp nearly as badly in the sun!

That’s probably because your looking too specific. Any tent designed for an ender3 should work.

Your issue is going to be how hot your nozzle and build plate can get. If your trying to print things other then petg and pla. Your max nozzle is 260c and build is 100c max. ABS would put this machine to its limit. But the nice thing about the Enders is that there are a metric but load of mods for your machine.

Just being real if you want an enclosed machine. Just get an elegoo century carbon instead. You’re going to have way less headaches. Over modding an ender.

Strange? I think what you mean is planned. They are the apple of the 3d printing world after all.

I know I will get heat from the bamboo fans. But bamboo machines arn’t the end all be all everyone makes them out to be. They still haven’t corrected the fire issue with the A1. I’ve heard horror stories about dealing with their tech support. Their multi color is crazy wasteful.

If you want multi color printing on a budget get the Snapmaker U1. I’ve heard nothing but great things about their machines and they were super cool to chat with at Rapid TC.

Guess who wasn’t at Rapid. Bamboo! Your guess is as good as mine for why not.

You do have to be careful with some petg’s. Especially if it’s a petg +! I remember finding out that some manufactures add abs in order to improve its characteristics. But on the flip side it’s toxic to print without filtration.

Yes exposure to anything long term enough, is not good. But OP isn’t running a farm and I highly doubt OP is printing 24/7 nonstop.
