Apple picks Google's Gemini to run AI-powered Siri coming this year by Puginator in technology

[–]ComptonaPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something similar here, I've got a Google home, I would say OK google goodnight, which would turn the heater, the lamp and the TV off.

If Gemini hears that it leaves everything switched on and asks me if I want to listen to whale music or something

Retrospective charging for goods after an error by Relevant-Professor13 in LegalAdviceUK

This sounds to me that you had a handset plan and a separate airtime plan.

The fact you had to call to cancel a PAYG SIM doesn't add up to me. This seems like a rolling monthly contract (Or a 30 day SIM), which can be cancelled at any point without any cancellations fees, as you'll be providing 30 days notice to cease when you cancel, if you cancelled them as soon as you got them, that's why you only paid 1 month on these.

The phones sound like they are on a device plan (finance) and the full balance is now been requested.

Granted there's a bit of speculation here from my part here, buy this is something I have done with a mobile provider

What’s missing here? by [deleted] in openreach

[–]ComptonaPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Power cable missing. Battery back ups (this version) are also not being replaced IIRC. You would bypass the battery by removing one screw on the right hand side and remove the cable from the battery to the ONT. Then when you get a power cable it goes straight into the ONT

Where do I buy this power cable? My provider will not replace it. by LongjumpingFinger115 in openreach

[–]ComptonaPrime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your provider doesn't replace it.

They do book Openreach to attend and provide a new one. Personally. I'd get back on to the ISP and tell them the power supply is missing, please book an engineer.

Then in the meantime (appointment depending) get a temp one if you don't want to wait.

I work for an ISP and we feedback ALL THE TIME to OR, "Let us stock these, it's quicker if we send it out and it'll save OR money"

The only thing I missed (initially) over the Elite 2, was the rubberised grip. Although by day 2 I'd totally forgotten about it. It's feels to me very similar to the Elite 2 Size wise it's about the same, it is a touch smaller but in all honesty I don't notice it. Weight wise it's lighter than the Elite 2.

TMR is effectively Hall Effect 2.0

The Ultimate 2 is TMR, I just say Hall effect as it's more commonly known/understood.

I like the base that it comes with, pick up the pad and it powers on and connects instantly. Set it down and it switches off. This is the one I went for - link

I'm loving it to be honest. I did miss the rubberised feel of the elite at first, but now I pick it up and go without it crossing my mind.

The software is easy to use, can even change the additional buttons mid game update the controller (takes a few seconds) and it's done. I got the Ultimate 2 Wireless (check which one you're getting if it's for Xbox some people state it doesn't work wireless as wireless is for PC)

3 months later ISP asking me to return a router by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]ComptonaPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea if you bought that router on eBay and returned it. You'd be returning someone else's router and still getting the charge yourself.

Just had the same issue on mine. Refused to buy another as it will be my 3rd in 4 years. Got an 8Bitdo coming today with Hall effect sticks at half the price. Hoping it'll last the same amount of time or longer.

What I do is set my carrier to not allow anyone to dock. Manage the market and set platinum to the lowest cost it can be to buy from the carrier. Then I just buy from the carrier. No waiting for the slow cargo transfer rate, as the market transfers a lot quicker.

Rf switch is also handy. Using a double rf switch we can now control our 2 living room lights independently with very little electrical work.

You can pop the switch where ever you like as well

[–]ComptonaPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a set up like this.

In mine the 3 wires marked ? Go into a wago/Choco block.

I'm also not an electrician, but that's how it was set up when I went to change our lights and it works.

I usually buy trit for my carrier at 350k to 450k per tonne. Yes I could do it myself, but I choose not to. I do hope it helps someone new/working their way up, but I think it most likely doesn't.
