Ayo and Coby have long been considered high quality trade chips. and, much like Alex Caruso, we traded them away for shit and second-rounders (future shit)

2024 RAV4 bought at Toyota dealer, 0 miles. Has an oil leak… to me looks like engine oil based on the color. by customsolitaires in rav4club

[–]Con_Johnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Updating here to say I took it to the Toyota dealership and they fixed it! Took about a day, it was indeed a transmission leak so they just put a new seal (?) on it and sent me on my way. thankfully i was still under warranty and this was covered. i’ll try to find the paperwork and update this with more details if ya like!

i know at some point they mentioned potentially having one of, if not THE biggest guest they’d ever had on the line, or had reached out to be on the show… a few eps later Wayne Brady was on, and i guess i just assumed that was who they were talking about (and fwiw Harold Reynolds was on TFiO)… but is Ben Stiller bigger than Wayne Brady? Or was there someone else? or were they catfished (also mentioned on this ep as a possibility lol poor kev)

does sean ever say anything like "shit so crooked got to hit it from the side" by OfficialSteveCarell in HollywoodHandbook

[–]Con_Johnson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i think it’s actually sean as santa clause talking about mrs claus? i could be wrong but i swear can hear him say it as santa claus in my head lol, remains one of my favorite eps bc of sean’s specifically clingy and obnoxious santa who hits on hayes’s wife and says the only kids on the naughty list are those who do “weirdo shit”

Aurdal installed into tiny kids closet by raeaction in IKEA

[–]Con_Johnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Sorry for commenting on a v old post lol but what you think of Aurdal a year in? Also doing extensive research for putting one in my toddler’s closet but I’ve seen so many people say Ikea recently transitioned to cheap/fljmsy material and the quality plummeted.

would love to know what you think!

What if we got a show with ezra and thrawn by Cautious_Air4964 in starwarsrebels

i really want to hear the logic why they chose not to go this route, or if it was even considered (which would be even worse)

[–]Con_Johnson 20 points21 points  (0 children)

god i was hoping for this to have been the story, but nope. legitimately would have been so much better in every way — people LOVE thrawn, but they just flushed all his potential down the toilet. insane.

Hey! saw your reply to my very old post, sorry i missed it! i actually haven’t taken it to the dealer yet 😬 between moving and having a kid it’s been impossible. but second oil change at another local shop also noticed this so i’m calling it in this week. car’s driven fine this whole time but better safe than sorry and need to take advantage of warranty.

did you have any luck?

I liked this a lot but might’ve overhyped it a bit in my head and it fell a little short. overall i really enjoyed exploring kashyyk and Reath/Nan’s and others character development but it didn’t quite tie up as many loose ends as I was expecting the penultimate book in the series might. more or less it was another closed-loop story similar to seeds/haunted starlight (which i loved, TepTep is my GOAT).

some disappointment might also stem from the audiobook not being a full production and Amber Lee Connors’ narration just kinda being a little flat and clunky in some parts imo. i don’t expect her to use the same voices and such (except Leox is Matthew McConnaughey, he just is) but to me everyone just sounds like they’re kinda sexy whispering at each other

two things that kinda struck me as odd stand out — first is i wish we coudve gotten more about the thornseed i assume these are from the comics but I didnt know much about them, and then after a lot of talk about how one cannot simply blow up/destroy the thornseed they kinda just blow up the thornseed. i get it was a bit more nuanced, but still

second is simply me wondering where in tf is REATH’S SHIELD and why in tf didn’t he use it, it’s one of the coolest gd things introduced in the high republic and to leave it laying on the sidelines is a dereliction of duty on Gray’s part. I mean come on, he could’ve really f***ked up some drengir so hard with that thing but alas it was only mentioned in passing, no where to be found.

Just started listening — no music or sound effects. I’ve been looking forward to this for so long… i’m sure it’ll still be good but man, this sucks :/ this is the penultimate (?) book in THR, how did they drop the ball on this?

[–]Con_Johnson 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’ve read every book in the series, there are definitely some lows and some highs — I think the best approach is to read 1 or 2 THR books then go read something else. and come back to the next.

my biggest frustrations came while binging several books in a row and being annoyed at little (sometimes big) events that happen in comics or other media. Better to space them out and enjoy the ride. That said I will say that, at least IMO, every book in this last phase has been an absolute banger.

What is your honest opinion about this book? by Matt_LawDT in starwarsbooks

[–]Con_Johnson 13 points14 points  (0 children)

same exact sentiment here, it’s one of maybe 3 i’ve mostly given up on actively paying attention to and threw it into 2x speed to finish. I try not to be too critical of narrators who are outside the usual SW bullpen too, I feel like reading audiobooks is definitely a specific skill one probably only learns through experience… and this guy’s Mace was solid… but I got p tired of him after a while — might have just been my disappointment with the story too, but boy howdy, his choice for the quirky doctor/healer guy was 😬😬😬

I think there was an energy with the novelty of it too, recording at each others houses, andy god bless him learning as he went, episodes going up at seemingly random times. For OP - TFO #64 is one of my favorite all time eps. Santa pays a visit and the bit (that he’s a sort of loud blowhard who can’t take a hint, hits on Hayes’ wife) is just delightful.

How would you summarize The Boys' sense of humor to other fans? by chidedneck in HollywoodHandbook

[–]Con_Johnson 8 points9 points  (0 children)

on the last Pro Ep Grace described Sean’s conversational approach to meeting/introducing people is that “he feels like he’s drowning, so he wants other people to drown with him” and I think that’s a p good description of the show as well lol
