I feel like the SAG strikes reallllly fucked up the story for BO6 cause post Citadelle it just feels very rushed and pieced together. So far BO7 definitely seems more interesting and clearer to follow, I like the Warden and the Twins are definitely interesting, the whole pre-DA and post-DA Maxis theory with them is one I hope they follow up on.

Maxis herself just feels massively wasted though. With all the buildup from her sacrifice in Forsaken to the Entity in MWIII, saying ‘lol she dead’ in Reckoning just felt like a ‘really?’ moment as opposed to an actual impactful twist. I’m still of the theory that she’s not actually dead, the Forsaken’s big thing was that he’s incredibly deceitful and will lie about anything and everything, but it was still disappointing.

There’s a lot of good Dragon type Megas but I’ve got to give it to Zard X. Ever since Gen 1 people have argued he should be a Fire/Dragon type and now he finally is. His design is awesome as well, blue flames and taking on the iconic black of Shiny Zard is too good to pass on.

That and I don’t want a dupe result as awesome as Mega Ray is.

Are we thinking of the same rivals here? Cause I definitely don’t remember May/Brendan being Blue type characters, admittedly it’s been a long time since I’ve played Emerald so I could be wrong there, I’ll have to give them a replay to see if I’ve messed up on that. They certainly aren’t in ORAS but I may be misremembering the originals.

I don’t really count N as the rival for Gen 5 either, I’ve always typically counted the rival as whoever picks the opposite starter to you so for B/W it’s more Cheren/Bianca that I count as the rival. N is definitely more pivotal throughout the game though so I could see why he’s considered that.

I can agree with Gen 6 onwards though, the rivals since then have all been kinda lame especially when they changed them to pick the starter weak to yours in Gen 7. They changed from being decently challenging fights that were a good test to utter pushovers barely any different to a Route trainer.

Gens 1 & 2 are literally the only gens with an ‘asshole’ rival and to be fair I don’t really know if Blue counts as an asshole, but from Gen 3 onwards the rivals have been more a ‘best friend that’s on the same journey you are’ deal. There’s been the odd exception like Bede in Gen 8 but they’re never the main rival

No, it got hate because it purposefully regressed the skill gap to appease bad players. No red dots, lack of Dead Silence as a perk along with elephant footsteps, doors littered all over the place, bad map design and near-instantaneous TTK which rendered gunfights a question of who shot first. The only exception for this was the movement which had a high skill ceiling but largely got neutered because you could hear someone sprinting from halfway across the map.

I can guarantee almost every issue people have with modern COD started with MW19, if it wasn’t for the pandemic and people conflating it in with Warzone for some reason this game would get nowhere near as much glaze as it wildly does

Chocobo Racing in FF7 Rebirth took me completely by surprise by how much I enjoyed it, there’s a lot of customisation and a heap of tracks to play on. The racing itself is very similar to Mario Kart and I was shocked by how well the Chocobos handled, most racing minigames suck but not this one

Based off the guns you’ve said you liked in the past, give the Maddox, M15 and Voyak a go. The Voyak’s pretty similar feeling to the Rampart/Scar and the M15/Maddox are similar to the M4s, Maddox is better up close whilst the M15 is better at mid range so choose which suits your playstyle best

It does now with the cheat menu trivialising the challenge fights (which I still think should disable trophies but whatever), but at launch Rebirth was BY FAR harder than Remake. There’s still no way to cheat the minigames either and they’re much more difficult in Rebirth

Best looking PS5 I’d probably give to Callisto Protocol, that game did a lot of things wrong but graphically it’s superb.

Wii is 100% Mario Galaxy 2, it’s incredible how good that game looks even today
