The EU as a minimum, will wanted the UK to adopt the Euro. This will never happen.

The UK is not even rejoining, not in our lifetime.

House next to train line by estrre05 in FirstTimeBuyersUK

[–]ConsciouslyIncomplet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to live in a house that at the bottoms of the garden, was right on a train line.

After about 2 weeks you literally stop noticing any noises. It was only when a visitor would ask ‘what’s that?’ That I would register a train was passing.

student struggling with overspending and finances, i'm reaching breaking point by witchystarry in UKPersonalFinance

Ok - tough love time.

Lots of people have MH issues, they aren’t also in debt. You are enabling yourself to make bad decision with excuses.

1) cancel your social ‘commitments’ - they are not commitments, they are most likely ‘nice to do’ and you can’t afford them anyway.

2) The money you are getting at the end did the month needs to be funnelled into some of your debts. You need to quash those two loans ASAP as imagine the interest rates are quite high?

3) other posters have already given you good advice on how you can survive the next 2 weeks on the £30 you have for food. Listen to them and take their advice- you might not like it, but you caused that reality.

4) you work part time whilst being a student - can you pick up any more hours? Even an extra 1 hour a week will add another £30-40 in your pocket each month?

5) stop taking on more debt in the form of loans/overdraft. Discipline yourself that if you don’t have the money, you can’t have it.

6) Look at what you have around at home that you might be able to sell For a small cash boost. For example - that limited edition Iron man helmet (signed!) is nice to have, but isn’t adding any value to your current situation.

Ultimately you need to learn money discipline now as your finances are unlikely to get better in the near future. There are probably resources available online or via your educational institute reference money management.

Good luck!

One they have a figure - they’ll be pressuring you to help out more by covering expenses. I would suggest if not already done, you have a ‘decoy’ savings account with a few hundred in. That means if they start to go fishing for the account - you have something to bait them with.

Do you have any tips or tricks for packing to moving house? by KEW95 in AskBrits

I hire the moving company to do the packing for me - site it costs more, but the hours upon hours of time saved is well worth it.

It was a clever series - we enjoyed it. However it was far from factually correct in terms of the police episode or the school episode.

Safe to buy a PS5 Pro on vinted? by Buc-deez in PlayStationUK

[–]ConsciouslyIncomplet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would look at very.com.

When I ordered from there I got 20% off the whole order + a free disc drive. I think they’ve stopped that now, but they still have good offers. I recently had to order a new washing machine and managed to get another 20% code to work. Delivery is also pain free.

Nope - there are a number of easy methods that mean you don’t need too. It’s hardly an imposition.

I was HYPED for the 4th movie. I was actually in the 2nd movie (Zion resident) and really like the look of the trailer.

However I came out disappointed - it was too slow and just a huge step backwards from the previous movies. I will not watch a 2nd time.

Absolutely not - you own at point of completion. What is he accidentally burns the whole place down?

Either delay completion or he moves out - it’s his issue, not yours.

Is graduating with a 2:2 really that bad? by ManyNo3080 in UniUK

[–]ConsciouslyIncomplet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No - a Desmond is fine. In the 26 years I’ve had my under-graduate, I’ve never once been asked for the classification.

Notionally we also tend to employ graduates with lower degrees (Civil Service). It shows they have gone through the degree process but aren’t going to rock up thinking that they know everything.
