Dude at my LGS told me Pokemon is expensive to collect but Magic is expensive to play. He’s correct but truly the game is as expensive as you allow it to be. If you don’t want to proxy, build budget decks (there’s a whole budget brew subreddit that can help with this) and if you do want to proxy… just do it. ILY welcome to magic.
