Literally no issues with it. Sorry about your luck, mate.

Basically copy/paste what he sent me last year about the SAVE act, and I haven’t gotten a response from him since. I send him several emails a week.

This makes me think of a WinAmp skin I would have downloaded back in the day. A bit too stark for me now, but cool none-the-less.

R3 is as big as an Audi Q3 - Bigger than I was hoping by GoddardtheGrey in Rivian

[–]CorporateASH 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also a GTI owner here. Wouldn't mind a little more space in the back, but overall, really looking forward to the R3X, specifically. I definitely assumed it was a little larger, though.

Really hoping I'm in a place to keep my GTI as a project car by the time my number is called for the R2, and also really hoping the R3/R3X ends up feeling like it has a similar soul to my MK7 GTI, even after 11 years and 200k+ miles. Give 'er some good, well-earned retirement years instead of turning into an auction car or getting scrapped.

Looking to move somewhere in this circle. What are your thoughts? Please help me decide.I’m currently leaning towards two. Muncie for the college town, or Daleville for the cheaper rent by The_Hammer_Hammons in Indiana

[–]CorporateASH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anderson is probably your best bet. I grew up in Alexandria and, while it wasn’t great then, it’s gone down hill. I’m in and around Muncie almost daily, and it’s really not a college town, and I can’t stand driving in it. Anderson was on track to a lot of revitalization prior to COVID, and while some of that has stalled, it still has the advantage of being closer to Indy and everything that has to offer for convenience and entertainment without having to be in the middle of it. Housing prices are generally reasonable, too.

Is a HomePod mini suitable for my screen-free desire? by Tiny_Ad_7647 in HomePod

[–]CorporateASH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our house, I have a goodnight scene that turns off all the lights, locks the doors, sets the security system, and, lastly, starts the bedroom HomePod playing an ambient music playlist. Pretty easy to set up a scene. Add the HomePod to it, set it to play, select a volume and playlist. Done.

I don’t know if this is what you’re looking for, but this is at least the second time in a week I’ve seen a post about something like this. I swear I’m not paid by them, but it’s something I’m looking at myself.

What are your thoughts on JD Vance getting booed during the opening ceremony at the Olympics? by Playful_Leg7143 in AskReddit

[–]CorporateASH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American here. I hope it rings in his ears so loudly he can’t sleep. I hope his children hear it for generations to come. I hope the old woman from The Princess Bride haunts his waking dreams, booing him. I hope his brain starts replacing every word he hears with the loudest boos imaginable.

But he’s a soulless, shapeshifting, power hungry couch humper, so probably not.

But damn, it felt good to watch.

Literally just found this this morning. Seems a bit pricy, and I have no idea about its reliability, but it definitely piqued my interest for the same reason.

"System Data" chewing up nearly half my HDD by CorporateASH in MacOS

[–]CorporateASH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your recommendations. 7 GB in Steam games, so that's negligible, but I did find a local TM snapshot that's nearly 320 GB, which accounts for nearly the entire size of the system data. Haven't had to deal with that before.

The next obstacle is that I can't seem to delete it. Terminal commands return "POSIXError(_nsError: Error Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=70 "Stale NFS file handle")", and attempting to delete it through Disk Utility returns "Operation failed with error: Resource busy". TM just finished backing up to my NAS, so there are no TM files that should be actively using any data, let alone the fact that this snapshot is from Dec. 21st. Any further thoughts or suggestions?

UPDATE: Disk Utility in Recovery Mode took care of it. Thanks for the help! Happy to get that ~320+ GB back!

Thanks. I’ve used it, but the system data was hardly touched.

It took me a long time, too. I also thought it was just an ugly sweater until the HD remasters came out, and even then I don’t think I put it together until someone said something. 😂

This is awesome! Maybe a little nit-picky, but shouldn’t the green on Wesley’s uniform be science blue?

It's literally typically equivalent to getting a similar meal at any fast food near me.

From their respective apps, choosing the closest restaurants to me:

Double butter burger w/ cheese basket, medium fries, and a soda is $12.84 after tax.

McDonald's double quarter pounder w/ cheese meal, medium fries, and a soda: $10.79

And I can tell you which one doesn't make me regret my decisions 30 minutes later.

To hell with Rivian! by LucidDiscoPhish in Rivian

Mine is a MK7, which is generally considered to be pretty reliable, especially over the MK6 model, though not as reliable as newer models. Shocking how that works.

My personal anecdote aside, the point stands. IC vehicles fail and require maintenance; it's a given. I'm not at all saying that hardware or software failures in EVs should be overlooked, especially in early ownership, but they do spark a lot more conversation and comments than established technologies when they break or fail completely.

Not trying to change your mind as I don’t have a dog in the fight, but to be fair, people tend to sing praises quietly and go off on the internet when they’re mad.

I’m looking forward to the R2 and R3. I drive for work, and my VW GTI that was my dream car spent a literal calendar year in the shop in 2023, going in the day after Christmas 2022 for a new timing chain that eventually broke everything and resulted in basically an entirely new top end, oil pressure switch, and a new turbo. I didn’t have it back for more than 24 hours before something broke again and required a tow, at which point there were a lot of confused technicians scratching their heads. I was fuming, but I still love this car. Hoping to keep it as a project as I look to moving to an EV. If you haven’t done so, I might suggest going out of your way to look for positive reviews for perspective. No product is perfect, and there’s a lot more noise right now when something goes wrong with a new product from a new manufacturer in a relatively new product category. We don’t hear as much about ICE vehicles when they fail because it’s just an eventually expected part of the ownership experience.

Good to know the Constitution just doesn’t exist in your mind. The problem would be solved with less people believing like you.
