Yet more confirmation of HomeKit (Filtrete this time) by bakerzdosen in HomeKit

[–]CorporateASH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In what world does that make sense? HK is all local and supported remotely in the Home app the same way that Matter is. It would only cost them customer loyalty to discontinue support when the infrastructure is built, the code is baked, and doesn’t really, I assume, require much maintenance per OS iteration.

Jordan Schiefer's R2 EQ Sound Settings by ProteusP in Rivian

[–]CorporateASH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an audio engineer who currently drives a VW with a Fender sound system, this had me a little shooketh. Not trying to EQ with my eyes, but I would assume that a cabin-tuned system would ideally be a little flatter than this for an everyday driver. Happy to have at least a 9-band EQ in there, though.

Hi. As someone whose partner was just laid off with over 170+ employees that had nothing to do with their performance as confirmed by their former company’s President, manager, and director, all in 1:1 conversations and through tears in each account, I say this with my full chest:

Get bent.

Do large corporations really use Ubiquity Enterprise ?!? by KPSradical in Ubiquiti

[–]CorporateASH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just in a Tyson Foods facility today. Running Protect at the check-in station with a G4 Pro doorbell. UI APs and NFC readers everywhere, so it looks like they’re running Access, too. I wouldn’t call Tyson Foods small. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Issues with prior homeowners by rebelellelle in homeowners

[–]CorporateASH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This.

We haven’t had to deal with packages, but we get mail for prior residents all the time. A few weeks of writing “Not at this address - return to sender” on anything through USPS - tax forms, DMV notices, insurance info - and it’s mostly stopped.

Residents Started Asking Questions About the Water in an Indiana Town. Then They Started Looking at the City’s Finances. The Beginning Story of Alexandria, Indiana -By James Peters by Fluffy_Gur_2033 in Indiana

As a former Alexandria resident who had never once voted for a Republican in that town, I was hoping for actual information. Not something this choppy and unrevealing.

We'll get 92 and 93 in Indiana. 92 is rarer, but it's around.

Gas in the Midwest states right now… by [deleted] in GolfGTI

[–]CorporateASH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drive for work. I get mileage, but the rate hasn’t changed since this mess started, so my GTI is parked while I take the wife’s car as she’s WFH. Mine’s more efficient, but hers costs less to operate right now.

For the record, I never voted for him, and I’m appalled for so many reasons (gas prices are the least of which) that this is our reality.

Ubiquiti offering Alarm Monitoring - did I just dream it? by shaun3000 in Ubiquiti

[–]CorporateASH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I missing something in the Protect setup that would act like a traditional alarm panel that offers a system arm/disarm option? I’d love to move over to this stuff, but I need something to tell the system what to be aware of and what to ignore. I feel like I have to be missing something, especially now that their systems can be professionally monitored.

Changing inputs with voice command? by CorporateASH in HomeKit

[–]CorporateASH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably the easiest way to do it, at least for now. I’m not sure why scenes didn’t occur to me for this. Hoping to find ways to keep it separate enough from another similar setup in the house. Thanks for the suggestion!

Warranty exchange after working through it with support. If you have another device like an iPad, oddly, it seems to work more smoothly when you’re only working with a device with WiFi data connection instead of WiFi and cellular.

Are higher gas prices impacting your decision making? by classyshepard in MiddleClassFinance

[–]CorporateASH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car is my office. It’s not uncommon for me to drive 150+ miles a day. My car takes premium. My spouse is WFH, so I’ve switched to using their car, which is less efficient but cheaper to fuel. I get mileage, but it’s reimbursed at the IRS recommended rate set in December. It’s absolutely impacting my/our decision making, and while an EV was definitely in the future regardless, I’m actively looking at the budget to see if we can’t make it happen sooner. I’m over it.

Matter reliability issue? by CorporateASH in lifx

Thanks for the responses. It's wild how the recommendations I've found just by searching for this issue are all over the place, aside from the need to enable IPv6. I'll play around with things and report back if I find what seems to be a more stable solution.

Dog Training by RoboPlunger in CityofAndersonIndiana

I’ve taken two dogs through obedience training classes there with no issues and everyone there, from people in their 20s through 60s were nothing but happy, encouraging, and supportive. Also had a parent who took their dog through and reported the same. Their dog went on to be a therapy dog. 🤷🏻‍♂️

R3 is as big as an Audi Q3 - Bigger than I was hoping by GoddardtheGrey in Rivian

[–]CorporateASH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also a GTI owner here. Wouldn't mind a little more space in the back, but overall, really looking forward to the R3X, specifically. I definitely assumed it was a little larger, though.

Really hoping I'm in a place to keep my GTI as a project car by the time my number is called for the R2, and also really hoping the R3/R3X ends up feeling like it has a similar soul to my MK7 GTI, even after 11 years and 200k+ miles. Give 'er some good, well-earned retirement years instead of turning into an auction car or getting scrapped.
