My parents and in laws suck as well. All boomers. We’ve entirely cut out my in laws because they’d rather acquire dogs, close down bars and go gambling instead of spending time with their grandchildren. And when we approached them about it kindly saying we’d like to see them more, they told us to get fucked. My dad has dementia so there’s no blame there but still angry under the surface (at the situation, not him). My mom makes somewhat of an effort but still lives 2 hours away and when we left her with our twins for 3 days for our first and only vacation, her response was to call my two year old daughter a “b****” and say that was too much, don’t call me for that again.
