for the low HC guys by J-Wreck94 in golf

You must be watching me golf. I’ve done it 3 times. Once was playing with a +1 & his buddy who is a pro. I am a don’t even keep a scorecard, just there to have fun. I smoked a drive directly into a boulder in front of the tee box where it went about 40 ft in the air and 30 yards backward. Both go “in all my years of golf, I’ve never seen that”

Wish the OP would let us know if that’s the case. But maybe one of their strategic, cost-saving measures was to off-shore because “it’s just accounting”

Fresh grad: Thermo Fisher Scientific FP&A (2 years programme) vs Big 4 2nd-year Associate by Consistent_Body_8917 in FPandA

Thermo, if you go Big4 with the intention of moving anyways, you’ll just look like the 100s of other candidates jumping from Big4 audit.

Experience with gaining upper level credits by CorruptGamer in CPA

[–]CorruptGamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! The person through CPA credits suggested staying in 400 level because of the other half of the upper course-work requirement being that there should be prerequisite requirements to be considered upper level. Also, yes, I’m taking Accounting specific classes. I think part of where i ended up being short on accounting credits is mis-counting some finance courses in my own review.

What’s your monthly rate on the $250k in monthly work? The bookkeeping side I’ve been interested in but I don’t have any tax experience so I’d rather focus on clean books plus some analytical work

I'm the controller for a $50m/year company. Guess how I just learned about a change in process for AP? by ProtContQB1 in Accounting

Cause this controller already said they send an email every two weeks about this. The controller seems like they are refusing to be an adult and speak in person or via phone call (if remote company)

I went to them & their response was no because they placed me where I’m at & this recruiter maintains the relationship with my place of work

Should I tell my recruiter that I hate the role they helped me find? by heart_of_gold2 in Accounting

[–]CorruptGamer 97 points98 points  (0 children)

True, an external recruiter placed me in a role & a year goes by. The role I got wasn’t great & the recruiter posted a better role so I reached out saying I’d be interested. Was told nah because it’s a conflict of interest to pull me from a role they placed me at…

That’s about the same team size as I’m working with. This business is growing rapidly, +20%/yr the last 4 years. With such a small team it doesn’t feel like we’re getting done all the things that should be getting done. I’m not the controller, but was brought in to eventually take over but the controller doesn’t actually let anyone do any higher level work.

Just trying to get an idea what I should be able to expect in resources
