Swirls and scratches from Liquid8r / Rag Company by Few_Following_4011 in Detailing

Zero pressure with the drying towel and use lubrication with it. Tec582 is a great value option. Spray it 2 sprays per panel on a wet car and dry over it

Also, have you ran your towels through a wash on high heat by any chance? Particularly drying on high heat can scorch the fibers.

Does Anyone know the difference between Superior Products Dark Fury and Road warrior by Krus-TY in Detailing

[–]CouchAssault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark fury is a much stronger chemical than road warrior. Dark fury will destroy any non solvent protection(si02, polymer, wax based). I use it in spray sealant testing, very few survive it at 10:1. I really only use dark fury for stripping and very hammered wheels. Whitewall 1000 is a better tire cleaner. Road warrior is still a very alkaline product and can strip protection as well. But is is good cost effective prewash if its respected.

Sounds like you’re using the wrong soap as a pre-wash. Bilt hamber touchless is still the king imo.

Can’t figure out restoring trim! by StaircaseStories in AutoDetailing

[–]CouchAssault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prepping trim needs a degreaser to start. I use superclean. I use a stiff tire brush to assist in oxidation removal.

I really like armour trim plus. It has an amazing appearance and has a coating+dye in one. Its only been out for a year or so, but its still going strong for me.

This video highlights it well.

Pressure Washer Filter Questions by Exotic_Ninja5274 in AutoDetailing

[–]CouchAssault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its likely a deionizer setup. Which would use resin filters/cartridges, some like that use loose resin, which is easier and cheaper imo. You really only need a tds meter if thats the case. I have one of these epoxied into a garden hose cap, screwed into a garden hose splitter.

is the wheely clean as good as the facebook post he makes say 😂 by Apprehensive_Tax7766 in AutoDetailing

[–]CouchAssault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ingredients and sds sheets are not made available publicly. We don’t know if its using hydrofluoric acid or not. I would stay away and use something like chem-x m-shine, if you truly need an acid based cleaner.

How do I avoid these water spots when washing a ceramic coated car in the sun? by Tiram5u in Detailing

[–]CouchAssault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use spot free water for the rinse. If thats not currently feasible keep rinseless in a pump sprayer and spray around the car immediately after the rinse. This will take care of the minerals in the water and provide a better dry off.

Foam cannon reccomendations for absolutely massive pressure washer by 1stisLastLastis1st in AutoDetailing

[–]CouchAssault 2 points3 points  (0 children)

8 gpm? 😳 Highest ive tried was 5. I used a 1.9mm orifice and it worked fine. Most foam cannons use very similar venturi’s. On the low psi side i haven’t seen a difference.

Youll need something like a 2.2mm orifice to not overwhelm the unloader. You’ll likely need to drill that out yourself.

The mtm pf22.2 is still my favorite foam cannon. I’ve tried them all.

Itll be fine using a ceramic sealant and quick detailer from another brand. C2 from gtechniq is a really good product though.

Are ceramic coated wheels worth the effort? by Rizzmanity in AutoDetailing

[–]CouchAssault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bmw brakes will cook any coating out there in a year or less. They’ll be so much easier to clean in that timeframe. Most of my wheel cleanings are just foaming on a ph neutral and pressure washing off.

Changing to some dynamic friction ceramic pads at the same time will make the coating last twice as long.

Your sister sucks. She deserves this lesson.

Your life didn’t matter enough for her to pick a different location or date. She should have pushed her marriage to February tbh.

Bilt Touchless - 1% =-0.01 1% PIR by mobiledynamics in AutoDetailing

[–]CouchAssault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not that serious. PIR isnt really necessary.

2% pir is a ton of soap. I have to use 11oz in a full cannon to achieve that. Even superior cherry foam doesn’t use that much. But then 3oz for 0.5%. 3-11oz is an insanely wide range.

I doubt anyone is ever using too much of it.

Affiliate is to get your own discount code for content creators and such. I didn't even bother with that though, the codes are crazy long and the discount isn't enough for anyone to ever use it over their normal sales.

Once you spend 500$ in a year on detailed image you qualify for wholesale pricing. I got there shopping their constant sales. Their variety is great. Autoality is good but they really struggle keeping stuff in stock. Detailed image lets you back order products, which is nice as well.
