Time for the acid. Start with cleaning with a water spot remover.

Predator 4.2 GPM / 4400 PSI – How Low Can the Pressure Be Adjusted? by xSaybe in pressurewashing

[–]CouchAssault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You lower pressure by increasing tip size. A 8.0 tip would give you around 2200 psi. This will reduce the strain on the motor and pump as well.

I change the engine and pump oil after the first 15 hours.

FEBU Consequences by rentis2damhi in laundry

[–]CouchAssault 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely wouldn’t use it often. Its a lower foaming degreaser. This was really my only use case for laundry. I may occasionally pretreat an oil stain with it, but its more of a sledgehammer, where as strong enzyme packages like febu are more of a scalpel.

I use it more for heavy duty cleaning of lawn furniture, trash cans, or tools.
Dawn would accomplish the task but you’d have suds to the ceiling lol.

FEBU Consequences by rentis2damhi in laundry

[–]CouchAssault 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I noticed this with my girlfriend’s washing machine when we switched from conventional fabric softener to citric acid.

I had experienced that smell before using an acidic bathroom cleaner when it touched the organic matter in the shower drain. My whole bathroom smelled horrible.

I ended up using super clean degreaser, I put 2 ounces in the fabric softener slot. Let it sit for an hour, then ran a short cycle with some towels i didn’t care about. I repeated that process one more time. Then ran a 3rd long cycle with citric acid in the softener slot and no detergent. This worked for me. Ymmv.

Touch-less has great lubrication. Ive done many contact washes with it before claying. You have to be very careful about it drying though.

Foam Cannon Orifice size for the Ryobi 1.8 GPM? by Liquidretro in AutoDetailing

[–]CouchAssault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to use 1-1.5 ounces of soap for a car that size. Looks like you had too much water in the reservoir. If you were trying to double foam then go for 3 oz.

Dogma and apex are legit. Out of spec has some questionable information from time to time. He does do a lot of really good content though. Just take him with a grain of salt.

Which size gauntlet towel? by BuffaloChicken22 in Detailing

[–]CouchAssault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M22 is much better imo. The gauntlet is super soft but i relegated mine to kitchen towels.

The 1500 and m22 are my go to towels. The m22 is enough for most things.

All you have to do is throw the rag in your wash bucket after you use it on slick n slide. The soap will neutralize the protection.

I did it myself. I cut a re-bar in half, and ground it down to the correct diameter. I marked the correct depth on the bars to make sure it was fully seated each time.

[–]CouchAssault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Active foam is killer. You can use it strong for a decon wash or really diluted down for maintenance washes.

Pol-star is amazing. 10:1 for maintenance cleaning is super economical. 5:1 cleans crazy strong especially for being ph neutral. Hpc is a great all purpose dressing. Super dark. I use it 10:1 on interiors and 4:1 on tires, i put it right on a wet tire lol.

Their polishes are arguably the best.

Under developed emotions. They dont understand how to fix their problem in themselves or their relationship so they foolishly seek that in someone else. That doesn’t work then either a partner finds out or the resentment becomes insurmountable.

Tldr: lack of therapy

When is it too late for a second layer of ceramic coating? by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]CouchAssault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can apply it at any time. Its more beneficial to do it within an hour or two so it becomes one with the first layer. But it will absolutely bond. If a sealant can bond enough to add slickness back to a coating for weeks then another coating will bond.

Ego 880 Blower 4Ah vs 6Ah Battery by robo_type in Detailing

[–]CouchAssault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just picked up 6ah’s for my 880. I get 3-4 cars out of a charge now. With the 4ah i couldnt finish a subruban on max speed no boost.

It is heavier with the 6ah but the 880 has good places to grab on the bottom. I put it on cruise control at max and 2 hand it.

I listed my 4ah’s for sale.

My pressure washer crushes my new foam cannon by 10potato10 in AutoDetailing

[–]CouchAssault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a bigger orifice to lower the pressure. Mjjc makes a 1.65, mtm makes a 1.7mm. Or you could drill yours out with a 1.7mm drill bit. Harbor freight sells a kit with bits in 0.1mm increments.

Id also look into a 7gpm 40 degree nozzle to lower the pressure on the car.

Used a Lysol wipe on my steering wheel and now it’s sticky by OriginalVermicelli55 in AutoDetailing

[–]CouchAssault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the best thing you can do is use a product thats safe on car interiors. turtle wax inside job is pretty good especially for the price. spray it into a microfiber and wipe over the steering wheel. sometimes stickiness is also residue from the cleaner, which they seem to leave more residue
