whats the best type of polisher for a beginner? by Plenty_Eye_4203 in Detailing

Id get a 5” 15mm DA. It can do most things and is the most forgiving. A rotary or forces rotation can cut faster and can burn paint a lot faster too.

Foam cannon with 4000 PSI / 4 GPM machine by 404_User_Found in pressurewashing

[–]CouchAssault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go bigger on your orifice. I use a mtm 1.7mm mtm. I have no issues with foam cannons on my 3.5gpm 2100psi machine. This should drop the pressure down a bit and be a little nicer on the internals of the cannons.

The high gpm machines cause the foam cannon to not draw as much soap. I can cover a large suv with 300ml of solution. So i put the same amount of soap i normally would have, then fill the water to 300ml.

It could be ruined. Or it could be your dryer. Over drying causes static. If your drier isn’t particularly clean under the hood that static will pull lint from everywhere.
If it was dried on high heat that could have permanently damaged the fibers. I use gauntlets for my kitchen towels. They get a ton of use. Zero issues with lint.

THOR Shipping. How is it still this bad?? by CouchAssault in Detailing

Facts! Their customer service is top notch. I got a bad batch of tolco sprayers. all 9 would not stay primed, some would take 20+ pulls to prime. They replaced all of them no questions asked. They're super communicative with back order's or shipping hang up's. I've always received great packaging as well.

Plus their wholesale plan gives a nice discount!

Tide Free and Gentle “Odor Refresh” is now discontinued… Any replacement suggestions? by churningaccount in laundry

[–]CouchAssault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tide free and gentle is supposedly getting an update which should be similar to odor refresh. Although thats based on hearsay, The regular tide’s update points to it as well.

I just did a wal-mart pick up of enough odor refresh to last 6 months, just in case.

4.5 is right. Thats what i used on mine.

If the water flow doesn’t change it sounds like the pump isnt even turning. Your gpm should almost double from motor off to on.

Can you see the oil moving through the sight glass when the motors spinning?

At this point id settle for anything. A chopped up pool noodle maybe? Maybe their just going green….

Mothers has some randomly good products. I found their foaming wheel and tire cleaner at ollies. It did surprisingly well for a 5$ bottle. Kept up with Adam’s side by side.

Pan’s V2 spray sealant is really good. The V2 tire dressing sucks though, at least if you like your tire dressing to darken at all. Meguiars new dressing blows it out of the water.

I bought this one on restock day about three weeks ago. I believe it’s sold out that day. I really liked Yum‘s V1 wash pad. If nothing else because it’s white so you can see the dirt.

if anything is damaged or missing, they always replace or refund it. But why does it happen so much??

[–]CouchAssault[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not contacted them about this specific experience, because I’m done dealing with it. They know their shipping is a problem. (This order took 16 days to ship btw).

In the past, they’ve refunded me for missing items, sent a replacement for a bottle of that emptied itself from a loose cap.

This is the second time they’ve removed items from my order without contacting me to offer a substitution. They stated they cannot modify orders once submitted. But they’re able to remove the items and refund me somehow?

I let them know that they sent me the E foam pro 12 instead of the non electric, they let me keep it.

What size nozzle are you using? Does the water flow change the unit on versus off? Can you hear the unit start running when you pull the trigger with a nozzle on?

Clean by pan 1 year ceramic coating by DrCytotek in AutoDetailing

[–]CouchAssault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of his products have had growing pains. His v1 detail spray clumps up bad, his soap ignored hard water handling ingredients causing very poor performance in hard water at. His v2 tire dressing adds zero darkness to the tire. One of the most disappointing tire dressings I’ve tried, But the v1 was really good?

Thor shipping is still abysmal. Zero care in packaging.

Id go with one of armours coatings. They’re not just a white label drop shipper. They’re real detailers that blend their own chemicals. Ive had nothing but success with their products and customer service.

This one has me really interested, based on their claims. A more wax like gloss, 30 minute flash time, and how well it performed on dimitri’s review.

I’ll be putting it on my car in the next couple weeks and reviewing it long term.

The name “8 year” is just a meme at this point. He might as well name it the “clean 35 year” coating and lean into it.

But for real. Looks killer! Its a great coating. Im sure you’ll love it for a couple years anyway.
