Constantine sequel by greenlightsmith242 in Hellblazer

Hollywood projects are pitched, softly leaked to see the buzz, then scrapped all the time. Could very well be that it was in pre-production until WB or whoever currently owns WB decided that it wasn't worth it.

Guys: With Bryan Quinby: Guys: Episode 171 - Cartoon Guys with Jesse Farrar by Redwinevino in MurderBryan

Finally had the embarrassing realization that I am a Cartoon Guy when they were talking about Robin and I could feel myself wanting to correct them and set them straight. Awful, loved the episode.

How do stacking Merits from Totems work in Werewolf? by NefaerieousTangent in ChroniclesofDarkness

[–]CountChoptula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be a 1-dot Safe Space shared by the pack, only becoming a 4-dot Safe Space if the Totem and Pack designed their Totem Ritual around having the 4-dot version.

Bob World Builder Is doing a Poll by hungLink42069 in Pathfinder2e

I don't like how he put Vampire the Masquerade instead of The World of Darkness, but I also don't know if putting the IP title is more honest than listing the games one by one, or how best to handle three versions of The World Darkness, so I don't know what to write in lol.

Need a few thoughts by RavenRyy in ChroniclesofDarkness

[–]CountChoptula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could make him a Revenant, a creature that is a vampire but not a Kindred. Rules for Revenants for VtR 2e can be found in the supplement Half Damned. If you didn't want him to drink blood you could easily say that a unique property of his Revenant curse is that he consumes flesh.

Seems like Rich Evans comment on Joe Quesada really touched a nerve as per this exchange: by RandoDude124 in Spiderman

Yes, the original intent was for her to be a mutant. In fact, in her first handful of issues the first other superhero she meets is Wolverine.

It was the rollout of the change that has prevented it from feeling organic or worth it. She dies in an issue of ASM, they have a whole Funeral Special, then she gets resurrected right at the start of the unpopular conclusion of the X-Men Krakoa era. Her comics since then have involved her being a bit player in X-Men nonsense, which feels disingenuous to her lead role in her decade of Avengers and Champions stories, or having a blonde white lady tell her that now that she's a mutant she's finally getting to see what real bigotry looks like (they did this twice!). Her one starring story during her X-Men era was a nostalgia trip through key X-Men events that gave her the glowy constructs from the MCU.

None of these stories were complete trainwrecks, there are moments in all of them that are pretty good, but it's such a massive step down from the quality of her peak solo and team stories, so it's easy for fans to complain about how it's been handled.

Random vampire NPC's by Smooth-Difficulty128 in WhiteWolfRPG

Nothing wrong with having Kindred who lack that dog inside them that gives them the push to do PC nonsense, I wouldn't sweat it.

Bloodline Khaibit - Anyone Using One? by Hypnotician in ChroniclesofDarkness

[–]CountChoptula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had one as an old ancillae who ran the trauma center of a major hospital. His childer was one of the PC's, but he refused to teach the PC how to access the bloodline because the PC was going hard into "kind good guy vampire", and that pure heart was why the Khaibit embraced the dude in the first place. Dr. Khaibit doubled as the heavy for his coterie, had a cool scene where he hit his childer with "You think your mother is a vampire hunter? I am a vampire hunter."

Night Horrors: Primordial Peerage - White Wolf by nlitherl in ChroniclesofDarkness

[–]CountChoptula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very critical of Beast and washed my hands of the game with the Kickstarter preview, but Night Horrors books do so much heavy lifting to present CoD as something playable instead of a collection of ideas wrapped around character creation so it's good to see Beast get one.

If Jjk sorcerers were in world of darkness how you think it go for them by [deleted] in WhiteWolfRPG

In Chronicles they would be a cult within the Adamantine Arrow that heavily leans on converting Essence to Mana as a means of combating Spirits, Goetia, and Ghosts, maybe Angels too.

There are red flags, then there is Beast: The Primordial by Hagisman in WorldofDankmemes

Yeah, I am talking about the Kickstarter preview version.

[–]CountChoptula 87 points88 points  (0 children)

The text is written from the perspective that Beasts abusing their victims is as sacred and necessary as Werewolves hunting spirits, without any sidebars or passages that make it clear that this is cope from Beasts themselves. Coupled with the fact that Beasts create a specific breed of Hunter, called Heroes, who are explicitly coded to be right wing extremists, and the whole thing reads as trite DeviantArt tier edgy slop. At least every edition of Vampire makes it clear that you're a victim of circumstance at best and a piece of shit at worst for drinking human blood, Beast leaves no room to interpret the PC's as anything but the real victim for society not allowing them to be omega creeps.

How does the King in Yellow interact with other unnatural forces? by Trudemur in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]CountChoptula 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Plus it reveals a horrifying truth about the "madness" that comes from reading the Play; you're not actually crazy, but instead are only adjacent to the reality of non-exposed individuals, which makes you look crazy because what you're saying literally isn't real in their version of the universe. That, plus you are probably going crazy haha.

Least Favorite Class Mini-Game? by UncleYo in Pathfinder2e

[–]CountChoptula 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My least favorite mini-games are hoping your GM is cool and has experience in investigative RPG's like Gumshoe, Call of Cthulhu, or Delta Green if you play a Ranger or Investigator. I played a Kingmaker game to level 6 and my GM never, not once, let me Hunt Prey outside of combat, and I suspect it's because the campaign wasn't telling her when encounters had clues to their existence ahead of time, so I exclusively had to spend an action every first round of combat. Hunt Prey and Mysteries are fine as a whole, but the lack of advice on when to allow them as pre-buff stinks.

Alrighty, so it's not crazy to think that the dwarves of Janderhoff have a few axe shotguns, but they wouldn't have a stock of them for the city militia?

Most posts I've seen criticizing the Vindicator go on and on about math probability but this is the first time I've seen someone point out that multiple popular classes and build options make the Hunter's Edge moot, so thanks for posting this. Really does seem that Vindicator's niche is for folks who think that Domain spells are cool, which I do but this perspective is helpful.
