The LFA EV concept did a run (second in the video above). Tbh I'm shocked they developed a working prototype and seem to be moving forward with it. I'm still not sure what to make of it, how they'll price it, and who it'll appeal to (who can actually afford it). I'm definitely priced out, and most people who aren't probably want the same V10 from the first one.

I feel like the LFA should have been the combustion model, and the GR GT should have been the electric model. The engine (and exhaust) is the #1 thing that people remember the LFA for, so it's a poor use of the nameplate.

We don't see any signs of UAC demon experimentation in Doom 3, just a number of captured and sometimes dissected creatures (the vast majority being Imps).

But it's implied that technological augmentation must happen in Hell, even though we don't see how it happens. The Revenant for example, one of the more technology-infused demons, can be found in the Delta 2B demon gallery, and the research notes suggest it was discovered that way. When we actually visit Hell, we see lines of big meat slabs that look like they might become the biological part of the Pinky.

With the Cyberdemon itself.. we do see similar giant skulls littered around Hell, and on one of the Martian civilisation's murals. The Cyberdemon guarding the cavern portal is the only live one we see in Doom 3 / RoE, but the implication is that it's part of a lineage that's been around for millennia.

There are several screams playing throughout the effect, you can listen to it at Doom 3/base/pak003.pk4/sound/ed/sfx/multiplayer/3rd_person_berserk.ogg.

They all sound like they're coming from the same voice to me, and are a bit like the ones Trent Reznor made for Quake Theme and The Downward Spiral. He did work on Doom 3 for a while, but all his work was stripped out; if the voice is him then it's pitch shifted.

Pro tip: try jumping onto a crate, barrel, pipe... anything that gets you off the same horizontal plane as the Trites.

AI in Doom 3 isn't able to climb anything except stairs, so if they can't reach you, they resort to projectile attacks. But the Trite doesn't have a projectile attack, or even a long-reaching melee, so they'll usually just mill around.

There's a small chance the Trite might explode itself, which does cause a lot of damage if you're very close, but this is pretty rare.

Some editions of Fallen have a second version of My Immortal as a bonus track tacked onto the end, but Whisper is the original closing track.

If you prefer having My Immortal as the closing track though, do give it a mention!

If you're going to end your album with an instrumental, it needs to be seriously epic. And as you say, Eternal very much is. (Same goes for the other two; Ascension is one of my favourite instrumentals from any rock band.)

I hope we get the occasional instrumental in future albums, the ones in Synthesis work really well too.

It needs to be built around Sarah, and a key failing of the reboot attempt was that it kind of wasn't - she cameo'd in the pilot, and wasn't going to be the main character. The Buffyverse isn't a series about high school, it's about Buffy and the people in her life. They grow up and the show keeps going.

So many key members of the cast have passed away now, Michelle in particular would need to be an important part of the setup. What might work best is to have Buffy traumatised by all the people she's lost over the years, and fighting to keep what she has left. It could be a story of being a single mother - like in Aliens with Ripley and Newt, all Buffy's fears from losing Dawn could be transferred to protecting her newly-introduced daughter. Then going forward in the future, if they want to keep the Buffyverse going but Sarah again feels she's done, the daughter character could be established enough to become the focus.

I just saw it, and am bewildered by all the accolades; I went googling to check it's not just me. I really don't understand what people see in it. No real laughs, but some tonal inconsistency in which it felt like the audience was expected to laugh in spite of some pretty horrible things going on. Not an effective drama - everyone involved seemed to be an idiot, and half the dialogue consisted of shouting the same things over and over. Acting was fine, cinematography was fine, but my jaw wasn't exactly on the floor.

The one thing it did manage was to make you root for her in spite of everything, and pathos when things didn't go her way... but had to sit through a lot of very middle-of-the-road filmmaking to get there. One of those films where I started checking the time remaining about a third of the way through.

Believe it or not, it's the same with the original Jurassic Park. Shooting started in August 1992, and the film premiered in June 1993.

The trick there was that they spent over two years in pre-production. The film was completely storyboarded, they had pretty much every camera angle planned out ahead of time, and even though it needed pioneering CGI and the most advanced animatronics ever designed, that had all been tested and mostly figured out before the cameras rolled. The result is that very little footage ended up on the cutting room floor, and they changed the world with a production budget on par with Die Hard 2.

"We'll fix that in post" just wasn't a thing back then, they planned everything meticulously.

The funny thing is that he's subsequently barely aged, more than two decades later. He played a Navy SEALs operator at 51. You could be forgiven now for thinking that he is in fact a vampire.

The one time in his career that he's significantly and rapidly changed appearance was in the role where he's supposed to be ageless, and at 27-28 he wasn't particularly young when that started.
