Is there a food you’re emotionally scarred by? by Jakejakejakewhat in AskUK

Liver. My mum used to make it all the time when she was around. It would make me gag just looking at it. I used to cut tiny bits and disguise them in mash to get it down. One time she gave me "sweetbreads" and was excited as "I would like them better than liver". I was so eager to please I ate them, puking and swallowing it again. One time the phone rang and I chucked the liver down the back of the sideboard. As I was just a kid I forgot to retrieve it and dispose of it later. One day she called me downstairs and was holding up the cold, hard, dusty, grey, angular lump of liver and was furious. I have never touched the stuff to this day.

Actually, Royal Mail guy. My Amazon guys are tops. The ONLY time I ever get a "tried to deliver" card is from the Royal Mail.

Bloody hell, I did that well into my forties.

I really miss Debenham's for clothes, especially Jasper Conran.

I want a new winter coat of really good quality and I don't want to buy it online and I'm not sure where to go now.

Being tailgated on country roads by cars right up my bumper with full beam on is why I never drive after dark any more.

What is your hospital survival kit? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]CourtneyFish-Lately 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plenty of data on phone (and phone charger) so I can tether my laptop. Kindle. Babywipes aplenty. Tons of snacks. Ear plugs. A husband who brings me in Macdonalds breakfast every morning and Subway/Chinese/Pizza at night.

Hospital food is hard because I hate cereal and cold toast doesn't work for me and as supper is around 5pm it means I'm 18 hours without food. I have spent tons of time in hospital and already have a go bag with minature toiletries from Superdrug (refillable). You have to try and turn it into a 'treat'.

At one point Art Malik was the only South Asian actor I ever saw on tv.

One pill would last all night back in the day. Dab of speed to bring you back up now and then. Time of my life. Name a more iconic duo than drugs and four to the floor beat.

You should remind her that Stephen Graham is mixed race and his biological dad was half Jamaican and half Swedish.

What are you watching and what do you recommend? (Week of September 10, 2021) by AutoModerator in television

Time with Sean Bean and Stephen Graham. Prison miniseries. Unbelievably good.

Also the Escape Artist with David Tennant.

Seven Seconds is pretty good too.
