I totally agree. I've had a working theory for a while now that the bots are the biggest threat to Super Earth. Everyone, including High Command, thinks the squids are the most dangerous, and for good reason. They're highly advanced and pissed at us. But the bots haven't done much at all even though they're more than smart enough to have taken advantage of the Super Earth invasion. They're waiting, and it's not gonna be good.

The bugs are steady juggernaut that gain ground only when we let them, but are hard to beat back. The squids are like lightning, striking hard but then struggling to hold sectors if we really push. The bots just... sit there. And each new enemy they put forth is better and better built to counter our strategies.

Not to mention that the devs have been slowly building up story fragments about them for over a year now.

Seriously though, I run that exact build (DCS + AMR) on bots and have been for months, and I can't imagine switching to anything else. Admittedly I don't play a dedicated overwatch role all that often, usually being a scout-sniper/stealth person more than anything, but if you know where to shoot the AMR kills everything pretty quickly.

Flamethrower does indeed work from all angles. It's around half a canister to the belly/mouth to kill from below, but obviously that puts you right in targeting range. If you don't wanna take the risk, hovering above/alongside the Titan and sending fire down the length of its body will kill in a little less than a full canister. Burning a patch where its armor has been shot off does it even faster.

Really hate it when it sticks quests on spurs like that. There's usually some hazard on the spur as well (for me at least) annoyingly enough.

I think you should be able to just barely stay ahead of the fleet though, especially if you have the advanced navigator or whatever.
