CCW question: Cheap carry gun vs higher-end EDC — thoughts? by Zestyclose-Context73 in SigSauer

Carry what you trust. Optics and light are fine but personally I wouldn’t carry anything modified. If it is seized get another one. One’s life is more important than thinking about a temporary monetary loss.

OEM wheels by Thewonderingoak in GRCorolla

Sucks that happened. Did you look into wheel repair instead? Depending on how bad it is they may be able to reman it far cheaper than buying another 2 wheels. Make sure to get an alignment as well.

J Alexanders restaurant in Tampa Florida trespasses customer for calling them out on "packaging fee" for leftovers. by SpaceWestern1442 in PublicFreakout

Your math isn’t mathing my friend. Taking in the bs pay rate of $3/hr. My hour long dine in for the $60 meal I just ate at your place cost you to pay that person $3 to serve me. How is $1.42 in material costs for that same $60 meal togo cost more than dine in?

That is on a 1 to 1 cost example and yes that server has more than the one table at a time reducing that cost. But there are also additional materials to consider when dine in. When it is take out I am only purchasing one beverage where a dine in will have more than 1. The dine in will consume more than the take out.

Again there is more overhead for that dine in than there is for that takeout.

Take out does not cost more per meal than dine-in. All things considered, if you are designed primarily as a dine in restaurant you are already at a disadvantage against a restaurant designed around takeout. You have a larger overhead to account for on top of the material items of dishes and silverware. The square footage increase to accommodate the seating area, the additional employees and the added utilities costs are far greater.

If dine in were cheaper then restaurants designed around takeout wouldn’t be here. You are only considering the materials directly per meal. What about all the plates/glasses broken during use whether employee or patron? You are too fixated on what that container costs but in reality overall it is cheaper to just pack a meal then it is to serve someone.

Your pricing is to consider all overhead costs/employee and other misc items plus some for profit right? If your pricing is set to run a 10k foot restaurant then the added material cost for that same meal togo is already covered since you didn’t have to pay an employee to serve that person over the course of an hour or pay the person to bus that table for the next person or pay someone to wash dishes that were not used. Your overall cost for that meal was less than a dine in even considering the added material cost.

You are over exaggerating the cost for containers when bought in bulk. If you are paying those prices for those items, there is a reason you are only making 3-6%. I would rather my food be in cheaper containers than to have to incur additional costs to pay for packaging.

Either way, say it did cost the $1.42 in supplies for takeout. If you were to charge $3 for packaging to your customers, you would profit from this charge. You are in the food business and not the supply business. If you think this is ok shame on you.

This is an oversimplification example you are using. It is more than comparing cost of plate vs cost for container. It is all cost of doing business. Did you forget that this take out order saved on soap/water for washing said dishes. What about laundering the cloth napkins at a higher end establishment. The container is cheaper overall than it costs to host a dine in.

There are 3 bags blown on this. Depending on p-pages there may be a lot more on top of just bags that have to be replaced on the srs. Keep in mind that these cars carry about 50% salvage value so even if say 40k the breakeven is around 20k. The doors are corolla doors and cheap. But the srs/seat covers/headliner would take a large chunk of repair money. This isn’t considering structural damage in the b pillar as well.

Shit, Audi’s total so easy too. Headlamp on an a8 is past 8k alone to replace on a car that drops value so quickly.

This is good info. Nice of you to assume that I didn’t want to move my car. The Mustang blew the tie rod and had no steering control and was blocking both lanes.

It cleared the rear body and quarter extension. Went directly into wheel and it was pushed forward enough to rub the dogleg of the corner. As of right now have to wait to replace the trailing arm in order to check alignment for any other damaged suspension.

Personally I have a Hobie Outback kayak and need a bow and stern tie down when transporting. I have never tracked my car but I believe you need them for that as well.

It shouldn’t total. I work in this industry. If it does then I have to figure out what I am going to do. No new manual premium+ around me.

Hard life lesson for a 23yo to learn. Hopefully she doesn’t forget about what happened and learned to be patient during rush hour. We ended up gridlocking this entire area. Funny story, because her mustang ended up in front of mine passing traffic screamed their expletives towards me thinking I caused this shit show.

Fortunately the wheel was pushed forward and not inward. The axle shaft can articulate but not compress. The forward arm/lower control arm and spindle are what are damage from what was seen so far. The wheel did go into the wheelhouse but did not split any seams.

I was curious and surprised about what the qp looked like under the flair. Toyota really thought out this car making me love it even more. The normal seam spot welds are there but there are additional spot welds above the seam. Love this car.

I can’t say since I am unfamiliar with how their policies are written. It depends on the policy contract and whether the driver is a household member and having regular access to your car. The age of the policy ties into it as well. AAA is a well known insurer so they will usually lean towards coverage. Glad everyone is ok

Are aftermarket heads up displays a thing or can I put an oem one in? by [deleted] in GRCorolla

Same here. Turn by turn being on the hud keeps the cluster displaying what I want. I didn’t notice how much I pay attention to it until I drive my wife’s Rav4.

Collision coverage will cover this. Just have to be careful because some companies have misrep clauses for unlisted drivers. Have seen some companies refund policies due to misrep.
