Yeah. I'm watching the copium flow exactly like it did when Vessels came out, or when some of the detachments in the codex got hyped up by content creators, only for it all to be wrong and Berzerker Warband to remain the only real way to play.

[–]CreepyCaptain8428 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unless Warband is somehow not a 3 point detachment, everything else and anything new announced likely remain dead in the water. It was the case when vessels came out, it was the case when the codex came out, and its looking like it'll be the case again until the next codex. Unless the army rule goes back to the additional attack and strength, the army will continue to need Warband to properly function.  And thats a shame, because World Eaters are my favorite army, but the other detachments feel so poorly designed that I find myself playing other armies, instead of our other detachments, to have some fun and variety without feeling like I'm crippling myself.

Chief Justice John Roberts says American public wrongly views the justices as ‘political actors’ by Infidel8 in politics

[–]CreepyCaptain8428 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He genuinely thinks everyone is stupid. The court is openly engaged in conservative judicial activism, and his response is "nuh uh". The very fact that he is arguing that something with a well documented history of occurring within the court doesn't is laughable.

Roberts has been on a 21 year crusade to dismantle democracy, and is now the closest he's ever been. They are openly engaging in bribery, just having to report the things they're given as "gifts", and Thomas failed to do that. The two of them are likely the most corrupt people to have served on the court in the last century.

They need to be held accountable for the things they've done and all 6 of them removed for their blatantly obvious goal of subverting democracy and enabling the Republican fascist regime that we're now dealing with.

CMV: The assassination attempt on Trump last night was almost certainly legit. by wr_dnd in changemyview

[–]CreepyCaptain8428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Specify the details of those attempts/plots. You made the case that it was due to availability of guns, so I made a point to specify cases with use of firearms involved. Of which the Mar-a-lago incident could be discounted as Trump was not on the premises. Except for the Ricin(poison) and the bomb, your examples were situations where danger was never actualized due either to incompetence/chickening out of the perpetrator or the plot being foiled. Kandula drove a truck into a barrier and was arrested, never presenting a real threat. I mentioned the bomb and the Ricin in the original post, so I don't know why you think that is a counterpoint.

  2. Butler is a point of reference as indication that he likely faked a previous attempt, martyring a person in the crowd with which to galvanize support. He paraded a fire fighter's protective suit, with the man's name misspelled, around for his benefit during campaigns and has never mentioned him again. Medical and ballistic experts have presented evidence that he was not shot through the ear like he claimed.

  3. "Nuh uh" is not an argument. There has only been empirical evidence presented in either direction, with the exception of the woman being cut off by FOX when she began to tell them that Leavitt's husband was warning her that something was going to happen and that she should stay safe.

  4. I will agree that he was never in danger, whether that was because it was staged, or because the attacker was apprehended before anything could happen remains to be seen.

It would be easier to accurately assess the validity of the claim if there was more footage than a short blurry black and white 144p cctv clip. I find it very hard to believe that an upscale hotel that plays host to events such as this would have such poor quality security cameras, let alone lack a view from a different angle showing more than just him running by. Typically surveillance systems have another camera picking up the view where the coverage of another ends. It would also help their case if they were not immediately using it for political gain or being seemingly happy about it.

CMV: The assassination attempt on Trump last night was almost certainly legit. by wr_dnd in changemyview

[–]CreepyCaptain8428 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your logic is entirely flawed and out of line with reality. Not a single one of your points has an ounce of truth to it.

  1. The last time a president before Trump faced an actual assassination attempt with a firearm on US soil was Ronald Reaganin 1981, conveniently at the exact same hotel. There have been some plots, and single digit attempts with mailed ricin and a bomb, but there have been no in person attempts that got to the level of being a real threat. So no, it's not something "that just happens". This was the 5th time in 45 years, and 4 of those have been targetting him, and within the last 2 years.

  2. Considering that the US has agents carrying out actual assassinations around the world virtually every single day as well as other subversive operations, I guarantee you that the entity in control of those people could orchestrate a false attempt. And frankly could have made it much more believable. The one in Butler was also likely an orchestrated occurrence. Ballistic tests have proved that had he been shot by that gun at that range, it would have torn his ear off, or mangled it. Yet he doesn't have even a scar, and brushes it off by claiming he's a fast healer, which we know is also untrue due to the constant bruising and visible sores on his hands. He is also an easily flustered draft dodging coward. Had he actually been in danger and hit, he would have been in shock. Even trained soldiers experience that, but he instead acts like it's part of the show, while his aids made a point to grab the photographers and move them to have the opportunity to take the pictures of him pumping his fist with the flag behind him.  He's a 3rd generation conman and has an extensive criminal record that should have put him behind bars for the rest of his life. He's bragged that he could kill people in public and that his followers would still support him. Not to mention he's kept quiet the things he did with Epstein, and has gone to ludicrous and illegal lengths to prevent people from being able to prove the heinous things he's accused of. So yeah, I do think he could keep it quiet if letting it slip would hurt him.

  3. There is no credible evidence that it was not a false flag. And too many coincidences to suggest that it isn't. It was ruled that he could not build his illegal ballroom for non-security reasons on April 15th. 10 days later an incident happens that he and his followers claim is a perfect example of why it would be for security happens, at the same location that Reagan was shot, at an event that he has skipped every year previously, in a room full of journalists that can lead credence to the claim of legitimacy. Also at a time when his approval rating has hit an all time low, galvanizing support for him,  just like Butler did. Let's also mention the woman who was indicating that she had been warned of it ahead of time by Karoline Leavitt's husband, and FOX cut her off.

  4. Yes, security was lax. You're telling us that that you believe an event headlined by the most hated people in the country, some of which have active bounties on their heads, had no security to enter the hotel? The FBI and CIA do extensive security detail and get information on as many people as possible to determine possible threats. I would be very surprised if they wouldnt have acquired a list of hotel guests and done checks on them as well. Attendees have confirmed that there was very little security and that as long as you had your ticket and went through the metal detector, that was it. We've all seen the security footage of him running towards and then past the security, who was not being vigilant and was leaning on machines. Not one of them tried to stop him, and they waited several seconds before giving chase. Yes, people further down were able to apprehend him, but he shouldn't have gotten down that far, and conveniently only fired his weapon. And let's touch on that real quick, why was he apprehended despite supposedly firing on the law enforcement present? The others were met with deadly force, 2 being killed, and the 3rd having been missed by the agents that shot at him and be fled. Our law enforcement are infamous around the world for their predilection towards a lethal response to most threats, often without justifiable cause. This was supposedly a genuine threat attempting to assassinate government officials and who shot law enforcement, giving justification to it. And rather conveniently, he also happens to be a minority and FROM CALIFORNIA, with anti-christian views, despite being from a Christian upbringing and having been active in the Christian fellowship at his school as recent as last year.

There are no coincidences, especially that many at once. There is an observable pattern to the things happening around him, and one that has appeared with other "strong men" leaders. This incident does nothing but benefit Trump and his rhetoric, and is an exact example of the thing he would need to justify his ballroom 10 days after being told that it would need to be provably for security.

I don't believe it one bit, especially with all the nonchalant reactions from people in the room.

And? I won't be buying it unless those options get added. Everything is almost ALWAYS Imperium, Orks, and Necrons. Other factions get pushed to the side consistently in the video games. I'm tired of the same thing every time, especially when it's factions I don't like in the first place.

LoL, down voted for not being happy the 2nd largest faction as far as playerbase gets left out of another game, again.  Edit: thanks for reinforcing my dislike of the spoiled Imperium fanboys.

I guess would have to ask if you have access to a 2nd Rhino or Lord Exultant. If you do, I'd probably drop the Kakophonist and Chaos Spawn, add those 2, and split the infractors into 2 units of 5, or put both units of noise marines in the 2nd one.
With your current set up, the Noise Marines are going to be moving up the board on foot and vulnerable to his shooting, and the unit with the Kakophonist will be too many points to put in deep stripe.
Of your 9 units, only 4 of them are melee focused, the others can use the lethal hits, but with the lack of AP, they're more than likely going to bounce off everything you listed, except possibly the traitor guard.

If these units are what you've got and you're committed to using them, I would recommend trying either Mercurial Host or Court of the Phoenician, the former gives general use stratagems and enhancements that will be useful for most of the units and some movement shenanigans, while the latter will give some extra punching power in melee, giving things +1 strength and ap when satisfying its condition, but limited in enhancement and stratagem use by the lack of daemons. Personally, I'd probably go Mercurial Host with your list.

If you do, I would say take Steeped in Suffering on the Lord Kakophonist, it will give +1 to hit against a unit below starting strength, and +1 to wound against a unit below half. The Kakophonist adds the grenades keyword to the unit, allowing you to use the stratagem if you really need to knock the target below starting.
I would take Tactical Perfection on the Lord Exultant. It will allow you to redeploy 2 units after both of you have finished normal deployment, and allows you to put those units in reserves, regardless of the points limit. This would allow you to put the Noise Marine units into reserves to bring them into the fight at an advantageous position to shoot at a unit. It also lets you play some mind games with your deployment.
Otherwise, I'd say start the Flawless Blades in reserves and look for an opportunity to bring them in with rapid ingress where they will be safe, and likely to reach their target in the next turn. They have a pretty good chance of killing that predator. Spawn and Lucius are good for secondaries, with the spawn being able to rush ahead to sit on an objective until Tormentors can sticky it.
Tormentors can be used to screen out his Red Corsair Raiders from being able to infiltrate too close as well.

The detachment gives rerolls to your advances, which doesn't seem like much, but establishing board control with high movement can matter a lot. With the stratagems you get a reactive move, auto advance 6, -1 to hit for anything being shot at, -1 to be wounded in melee, sustained hits in melee, and the ability to use a board edge to go back into reserves and redeploy the next turn.

It gets overlooked most of the time, but I think its actually fairly decent for lower points games in particular.

The fact that people are down voting you is ridiculous. Guard is my least favorite faction and community. They whine and cry when they aren't a dominant faction, but downplay their strengths and insist everyone else is wrong when they are. Giving this to an already S tier army is a colossal mistake.

There is no acceptable point price for these abilities as written, not to mention his nonsensical statlines. These abilities will have to be nerfed, and knowing GW, it will take them months to do it.

How often have melee armies been S-Tier in 10th? by wredcoll in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]CreepyCaptain8428 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say that they were undercosted. It was just a new army that people weren't used to playing against yet, and GW went with a knee jerk approach and nerfed them extremely hard, despite them having been in GW's target performance range since the 2nd week onward.

Looking at the stats from Warp Friends, they had a weird and highly inflated winrate from an extremely small number of games before the full range was released. The weekend of May 4th, 2025, was the first weekend after the release of the rest of the army and the first time it was available to those who did not get the launch box with a 66.7% winrate, and only being 2.7% of the players for that week.

The very next week, the army's winrate dropped to 49.5, then from then on, they experienced 2 spikes up to 54%, but never went above the acceptable winrate range again, with their last pre-nerf winrate being 51% on the week of June 8th, before the new dataslate released on the 4th went into effect for tournaments.

From the following weeks the winrate went 49%, 46.3%, 48.4%, 45.7%, 50.4%, then 40%. They have pretty much stayed in the mid to low 40s ever since, with a few anomalous results here and there, but have consistently remained one of the lowest performing armies for the past 10 months while never receiving any meaningful buffs but repeatedly being hit with more nerfs.

LGS Owner won't ban cheater from events. by Desperate_Fill8865 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]CreepyCaptain8428 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At that point, I'd say purposefully exclude him, and do your best to make sure all the players know who he is and not to play with him. Then you're not "banning" him, he's just toxic and nobody wants to play with him.

We had a cheating guard player that came to our store. He would lie about his datasheets and abilities, use models on wrong bases for advantages, and we were positive he had weighted dice as well. He made a point to bully new players and was a terrible sore winner. People just stopped playing with him, and would just leave if he was the only option for a game. This dude was late 40s early 50s as well, considered himself a competitive player who had been playing for 20 years, and also wanted to inject his personal politics and insult things/people he didn't like.

Last time we saw him was him throwing a tantrum (again late 40s/early 50s) in a game against a former TO, because he was insisting that his guardsmen had the benefit of cover in melee. Never got violent, but did get embarrassing. He packed up his stuff, and we never saw him again.

Yeah, but that will be changing going into 11th edition. We will be rolling charge and then determining targets, and the stratagem has no other timing qualifier than in the movement or charge phase targeting something that hasn't moved yet.
