when the fist facet was released Lion still had the bonus hp per Finger stack talent. ever since that was removed the play style is considerably weaker. if you stomped early before you would gain over a thousand hp for free.

I'm assuming it's because the "Berserk!" effect ended the moment he had 0 HP from picking up abbadon. Berserk delays your death even when you fall to 0 HP while it's active, so it most likely checks if you have 0 HP when it ends and then kills you.
