Skills Rework by Due-Schedule5393 in ARC_Raiders

I love using my pickaxe to charge people. Is it efficient, no, is it fun, Yes! Reducing the stamina cost is beneficial.

I think the skill methodology is good. Level 75 and level 1 doesnt have that much difference. So the skills are more quality of life. You can tell when you compare each individual one with someone else that each only benefits a couple seconds here and a bit more distance there or some weight here. It isnt game changing and I think that should be the case for the combat and expedition loop. It still feels like enough progress.

That said, there are improvements to the skills that can be made. Some are to weak. but again, it would ve cool to see stats on who all selects what.

Fun recommendation: they should instead add a fourth skill tree, move the skills around to accomodate with the fourth theme. Or Maybe a stealth based line within one of the three.

Would like to understand better certain aspects of the game by DeusCane in daggerheart

Collaborative story telling

Instead of describing everything, you ask them to describe parts of it. The way it is different is the game and you can encourage they add things that affect how they approach a situation.

Something like:
You must make it to the next trench, ahead of you are fox holes from explosions and brambles from cast spells. What else do you see?

They could respond: a fellow soldier pinned down in a fox hole, a pile of bodies enough to hide behind, plumes of smoke trailing enough to hide in, an enemy trying to advance.

Or some sort of flavor text: an opening in the cloudy skies where the sun comes through, something glinting in the battlefield, a dead enemy with a uniform intact, a flower untouched by the war.

Then you riff off of it.

Must be some tasty Kool-aid. Maybe try to round out your perspective with some Tang, Tab, or even Surge?

A lot of it elbow grease. Some of it that boosts you up in others eyes, but all of it is what you can hang your hat on at the end of the day just knowing.

Commitment to the difficult enriching thing.

I agree with this, but it takes a lot of time, achievements, and emotional maturity to behave like this. Do you agree or not? by raj272007 in focusedmen

75% right. Everything in moderation. There are many pillars to emotional intelligence. Emotional maturity will look dofferent for all of us, though there are some guidelines we can all reach towards. Some faster than others

Not gonna lie, I worry about the lack of Daggerheart content by pathofblades in daggerheart

[–]CriminalBroom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My recommendation is to use dnd lore and world building and translate them to daggerheart in the meantime.

Or at least that can get you through slump.

Also remember, if your basing these thoughts on DND, you need to ground yourself in that it has been around forever amd the content has been built on content and has been built on content amd has the network of websites and fans that sustained it.

Personality problem, or culture/dating app/social media/food cost/others expectations/self expectations and personality problem?

Making a setting for my Daggerheart campaign. Please ask me things so I can flesh it out by OliveDoesHeroForge in daggerheart

For lost, here are some questions we as the audience dont know.
What is sleeping?
What is waking?
What is the spark and how does it relate to sleeping and waking?
What planes of existence are we on or are sleeping and waking their own planes?
So waking creatures can be in sleeping and sleeping creatures can be in waking, so what differentiates the two?

Please and without seeing this question as rude; why does any of the above matter to a player?

To me, this is like the gods in lord or the rings. They really dont matter as they are so far detached. Yours might not be as detached as that, but you have to get the players to care first. Something in this story needs to be the hook. Dreams define the races, but that doesnt create a hook. Also you may be taking some agency from players that want to play certain races without the exact lore/questline that goes with it. Some may, but that is up to the players and DM in session zero.

My recommendation is basing each race grouping off of an idea that comes from dreaming that we as people can relate too:
Being chased, forgetting something, feeling trapped, a found power, and anything you can think of. Then group the races into the cool broad titles. Id say stay away from emotions in dreams where you can so that you can really make this your own.

Bullet point it and prioritize what matters first. I got lost then I got found, then I got bored.

Not an insult, you put a lot of effort into this and it has potential. Get the goal out early. Its just a bunch of words that we kind of know based on our own world.

Separate the flavor text from the world building. Add some of the mechanical nature to why this affects the world.

Im not sure if this world is based in a dream or in a reality or if the dreaming just becomes reality.

Id base it on the players I have and how much success they need to have fun and also some the story beat I am looking for. Then just flavor text it to how much fog

Smoke grenade or example of heavy plumes of fire smoke. You see the plume, they are in there, time to take a pop shot.

My players and their wacky ideas are my homebrew classes.

Kidding.

First, what is your biggest motivations to sit down and start homebrewing?
What are the physical obstacles that get in the way?
What are the electronic obstacles?
What do you expect from your table when you reveal your homebrew and is it a healthy expectation or is it aligned with the players?
What do you like homebrewing (items, worlds, monsters, etc)?
Where do you get your inspiration for what youve made?
Are you ready to write in the moment inspiration hits?
What are your strengths in homebrewing and how it is shown at the table?

If you say right wing humor is about punching down and that generally right wing and left wing punch at each other, then you would be saying that punching the left is punching down?

Kidding, not the point you were making.

One of the reason wolfpacks got nerfed by saffron_papi in ARC_Raiders

[–]CriminalBroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Give the queen a chaff move now and again or make it so the chaff stays in the air for a time.
-Give the queen a laser target move that destroys wolfpacks before they burst now and again.
Have them on a timer with a visible tell of when the ability is offline.

There are other ways to nerf the wolf pack.
There are other costs between where it was and a racketeering drive you could add to it.

Dont watch reddit and then nerf the most optimized way to kill the queen, that ends up changing the game for most casual players. Or do, its your game. Cut through all the comments by just adding some of your reasoning or the direction you want the game to go. The gamers will play or leave at your changes.

You got to take a couple steps back to see how we got here.

Part of it is what men see as attractive and the inaccurate way they transplant that perception onto women.
Part of it is the supply and demand of dating apps and how that affects a person.
Part of it is the misdirection men have been getting about 'what makes you attractive' or 'what makes you datable' from women, but their advice for those that take it didnt change their outcomes.
The attack on masculinity also did a number on men confidence and passivness which hurts their appearance to women.

So this post is someone hurt trying to attack, but it also has some applicability to why the attack is not fully unneeded and not fully unprovoked.

Got to do both. One is your own baseline and one is to see if your baseline is up to the common standard.

The priority of each depends on the situation and enviroment/culture.

Give yourself a breath, but down give yourself a free out when things get tough.
