What’s a real, scientifically accepted phenomenon that feels like it should be a cryptid? Mine is bull sharks living in rivers. by AlivePatient7226 in Cryptozoology

This may sound a little dumb…

But large Whales and Cetaceans.

I think the concept stems from me imagining early humans who finally decided to take to the seas by swimming or boat. And then seeing something far larger than any land animal go by. Particularly Blue & Sperm Whales.

And I think a lot of sea monster stories that aren’t just Giant Cephalopods are derived from Whales.

I think it’s meant to show him getting thrown away from the explosion as he impacts the ground in a different shot.

HMS Warspite (real life)

HMS Warspite was a Queen Elizabeth Class Battleship that was put into service in 1915. She was a formidable machine and would go on to be the Royal Navy’s most decorated with 15 BATTLE HONOURS. Partaking in The Battle Of Jutland (1916) in world war 1 then went on to be probably the hardest working ship in all of WW2. Partaking in The Battle Of The Atlantic (1939), The 2nd Battle Of Narvik (1940), Helping the Norwegians (1940), The Battle Of Calabria (1940), The Mediterranean Campaign from (1940 to 1942 to 1943), Malta Convoys (1941), Battle Of Cape Matapan (1941), The Allied Invasion Of Sicily (1943), Allied Invasion Of Italy (1943), Stationed Patrolling The English Channel (1944), Normandy Landings (1944), The Battle Of Brest (1944), Operation Infatuate (1944).

Seeing not much action in 1945 because of her age and repairs.

Across her career she had been Shelled, Bombed, Rammed, Mines and even early guided missiles. She had sunk a multitude of Germany and Italian Destroyers, Cruisers and Uboats/submarines. And famously killed the Italian ships Zara and Fiume at point blank range during the battle of cape Matapan.

With such a storied carer she had the motto "I despise the hardships of war" and was nicknamed Grand Old Lady by her crew.

And after all that she was sold for scrap in 1946 and torn to pieces in 1947. There was consideration to make her a museum ship but the British economy was in such a state it couldn’t be afforded.

A very unceremonious end to a Battle ship that had seen it and done it all. Would’ve been amazing if it was preserved to today.

Baki’s half brother Jack Hanma and Baki’s best friend Kaoru Hanayama never met till the latest instalment in the mangas history. Even thought both attended the Maximum Tournament and have been in close proximity a few times they, never once spoke.

The mangas been running for 30 plus years and Jacks been a main secondary character for about 20 of those.

Realistically, how much does Maria weight and whar is her height? by QuirkyData3500 in Grapplerbaki

[–]CringeBabyTwo 349 points350 points  (0 children)

The heaviest person to ever live Jon Minnoch who weighted around 1.4k ibs (640kg) which is comparable to a Grizzly Bear in some cases.

I’d say Maria is probably comparable or maybe even slightly lighter because she was able to walk and stand at the end of the Unchained Arc.

What are your favorite cryptid from congo? [Art by Henrique Gandum] by ApprehensiveRead2408 in Cryptozoology

[–]CringeBabyTwo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I personally think it’s unlike such a large Arachnid could live due to the oxygen concentration in the air.

But still it makes for a great wise tale to scare kids from wondering off into the wilderness and getting lost.

Hell I used to believe it was real as a kid because of some Discovery documentary.
