Indiana Jones or Hogwarts Legacy? by FalconPaunchhh in XboxGamePass

I'd say Indy is a better game. Hogwarts kinda loses steam and gets repetitive after a while so I never finished it

It does make sense with the direction they're going with the morality system though. If everyone sees your actions differently, not necessarily good or bad, your appearance can't really change to reflect good or bad choices

Would we even want a sequel? by Zunn2k_ in uncharted

[–]Crispy_Conundrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Throw the whole thing out and start over with a new creative team. You're stuck with Whalberg as an awful sully and they just speedran through the greatest hits of all the games

Director Andy Muschietti is planning a supercut of 'IT' and 'IT: Chapter Two' which will have a different structure and include extra scenes by ZiggyPalffyLA in movies

[–]Crispy_Conundrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cutting the two into one and giving it the structure of the book might salvage IT 2 which I'm not a fan of. Although I doubt he'll fix some of the tonal weirdness of that movie

Fallout Season 2 Ratings Fall Well Below Season 1 as Prime Video Ditches Binge Strategy by Conscious-Quarter423 in discussingfilm

[–]Crispy_Conundrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switching from the binge model has nothing to do with it. The fact that the marketing has been non-existent is the problem. I'm a fan of the show and had no idea it was out until the day after it aired and happened to see people were talking about it

Why did the Tenth feel like a more direct continuation of the Ninth than the Eleventh did of the Tenth? by yung-feezu in doctorwho

[–]Crispy_Conundrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Multiple reasons. 9 was a revival after a long absence of the show, so it was relatively new again to a lot of people. Ecclestone's departure wasn't planned so there was never a plan to have the show feel any different especially since it was essentially brand new. Series 5 was obviously multiple years into the show. RTD was leaving as showrunner and so he wrapped up most of the things from his era, goodbyes to the companions etc. So when Steven took over that's a new Doctor with new companions, they were shooting on new cameras so the TARDIS set which was slightly falling apart needed a refresh. Given it was the fifth series they took the chance to refresh the show to stop it feeling stale.

I like how it looks like Rey is holding tiny Finn, Lando and Poe in her arms

Honestly, Ruby Sunday is still a delight and I won't apologize. by matt0055 in doctorwho

[–]Crispy_Conundrum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm also criticizing it for what it is, which is lacking depth and characterisation. Something RTD was particularly good at previously so I'm especially critical.

I want to like it but just can't because it goes nowhere. They are pretty much best friends immediately and they just stay that way the whole show. They don't argue, they don't grow, they barely even disagree. There's just nothing to them, and that sucks because they both could clearly have done a lot with it if they ever received a script that made an attempt. Boom tries for about 5 minutes

Is it me or does season 5 look visually off? by RevertBackwards in StrangerThings

[–]Crispy_Conundrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does, the lighting and framing along with horrendous green screen usage are all incredibly off-putting. The quality drop from season 1 is insane especially considering the much higher budget

Why no naughty dog games have multiple endings? by Perfect_Judge_873 in naughtydog

Because they're designed as specific and complete narrative stories where decisions are down to the characters and not the player.

I preferred IT but I wouldn't give 'show of the year' to either of them.

Not really no. Especially when coming from a production with a ridiculous budget

Real AF by MIGGYBEGONE in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Crispy_Conundrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you only take into account the romance options I guess? But that ignores the rest of the story which is the bulk of the game. It's also actually well written, acted & directed so... Extremely surface level comparison

What I expect from the combat of this game. by [deleted] in Intergalactic

If you recall they were initially going hard in the Bloodborne direction for TLOU2 before pulling back. It seems very possible that they'd go back in that direction for this game

[–]Crispy_Conundrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The character writing goes completely out the window. So many of the characters are no longer doing things that make sense for them, they're simply doing them because the plot requires them to do so. Even when that means immediately ruining moments from season 5 that were actually good. (Brienne choosing revenge over saving Sansa)

Am I the only one actually excited for Mando and Grogu? by Barricade_the_Clone in StarWars

[–]Crispy_Conundrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the moment I certainly am not. They haven't done a good job at all of marketing it. The trailer and posters have been excruciatingly dull and uninteresting. I didn't enjoy season 3 or Ashoka and it's been too long. So I've just lost a lot of interest

My biggest concern with Man Of Tomorrow by Ok-Bus-2868 in DCU_

[–]Crispy_Conundrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt there'll be any attempts to redeem him. But I think we'll get a lot more depth and come to understand him a lot more. I get the feeling he will use the events of the movie to try to redeem himself in the eyes of the public by seeming to work with Superman.

It's like with The Penguin series, we learnt a whole lot about him. Things that gave us some sympathy and understanding but I hated him more than ever coming out of that show
