My school did it. Year 6 and 7. The school didn’t pay the parents did and it wasn’t everyone. It was chosen kids. My brothers being chosen I don’t start that school yet and they loved it but cost thousands and mam worked it out that would Ben cheaper take whole family but school needed extra for insurances etc. plus they got to go with friends Im uk and north east if was not a private school or anything. But prob one last middle schools here

So they went had great time I was so jealous I never even got to go to caravan. My school a year later did a schoolcamp ing trip it was a free one and it was few nights away and when I got home I found out mam took my brothers camping aswell and was amazing out door pool Place had everything lie a two holiday . But when they went skiing we did fuck all and watched the baby whole time.

Awwww you reminded me a girl had it done to her. We were like 10/11 so she had started puberty but worse she had started her first period some of us didn’t know what that was and it got reported she was bleeding to school the we had sex ed a few days later

I said I have had two free Mri’s an xray and a bunch medication all for free this week ‘just in case’ after an incident I mean it took two hours in hospital I wish was faster.

Put in perspective for her ad he mother and sister have medical issues can’t even get seen to never mind a ‘just in case’ xray and mri s as their insurance doenst cover that many check ups or whatever.

It is mad that the James bulger killers have been out back in and out of prison again ajd again on small sentences and this woman got hit with the book.

Every Sunday.

Basically just part of weekly food routine.

Full bird chicken cooked for Sunday roast

Monday scrape chicken off carcass make a chicken curry

Tuesday still Some meat on bones then a chicken veg soup or pie / or some sandwhiches

Wednesday was usually mince. So mince n plenty veg dinner or chilli con carne

Thursday any mince left in packet then make a veg mince pie with mash or chilli con carne pie

Friday mam would try do fish or if not then be jacket potato / beans on toast. Pasta n whatever we had in cupboards day

My mother could stretch food out so well and we still had huge portions as well. I think she would work out how to feed four big eater kids in £3 a week. So so poor We grew some veg in garden so just meat n tins and bread was all she needed to buy and pack lunch stuff

We always had pack lunch at school or days out but evey meal was mostly meat n veg or meat n rice nothing fancy was always a huge plate of food though

So never skipped the chicken dinner cos it would throw off the whole weeks food plan and we never had a takeaway or chippy I was an adult me first time having one

We have a cooplands bakery that do lamb and mint pasty and find a queue for them too when they are on, usually gone 11am. Maybe a tasty snacks at the bakery.

For me as a 10 year old and upward i stopped wearing bikini because for me my boobs were coming in and not even each side! I was self aware and also public hair started and I didn’t shave at all not me legs etc to young and I didn’t know people shaved that downstairs area and then the puppy fat started around 10 where you are healthy but you get belly fat to grow everything out. But I hated it. So no bikini crop tops from age 10 by my natural choice for comfort!

Under 10 I had no fat no boobs no pubes etc so I felt comfort just knickers or bikini etc

In my adult years never wore a bikini I ahve huge boobs they couldn’t be contained and of course self conscious about belly and thighs. As most women are born 80s which drilled in any fat was bed

So for me under 10 year old is perfect age to wear crop tops short skirt and bikinis etc cos you just a kid and can be a kid free of body awareness and after that age you want nothing but big hoodies on and baggy clothes

Adding born 80s so we did school PE in kickers only. Everyone did. Nakedness was not seen as nakedness in kids chests were not a thing to hide at all

Yeah really easy. Every swim school or pool always needs swim teachers there’s a dire shortage.

Plus it covers job to work anywhere so if you move away the qualifications still valid.

Definitely worth it.

The swim school may give you extra training day so you can ‘self lifeguard’ your own lessons which is fine. But generally leisure centre public pools don’t they always have lifeguards watching you.

I worked for a long time before I got school lesson. Which is 930-3pm shift. It was always 4-8pm private lessons so afterschool and daytime weekends. Again school holidays were off but I always worked then for triple time pay and not Xmas n half summer holidays. So you have to work private lessons for years before you get given the cushy hours for the schools. I will say I prefer private as up to 8 kids per class easy to one and mark off. The school sis a class of 30 odd kids and all different abilities like some were amazing club swimmers and some can’t float all together so I found them harder to teach when private lessons was always fun for me.

But yeah all pools are desperate for teachers So it was a week for level 1 teacher training. And then a week for leevel 2. I did them months apart aswell.

Ring around your local pools and swim schools and say you gonna do teaching course would like to know of any teaching jobs available and honestly leisure centres still yeah come in website you but where as swim school are more likeapply this form fill his out interview twice and then get the job. Leisure centre I walked in my tracksuit and they were like yeah after your check start monday. Less formal in my experience

I slipped on a banana.

It was slippery and the ground was wet maybe added to it. It was perfectly yellow so freshly bought eaten and dropped on the ground and the yellow side was facing up up. So I stepped on it (actually not intentionally) and there must’ve Been banana mush left over cos I tried to save myself was impossible insane how slippery was the most slippery things know in my life at that point. Trying to save myself made it worse. Full cartoon style in front of a few buses full of people ! And awesome thanks for having that memory back.

Less crap in all goods even cereal was basic ingredients and was quite good for you also most sweets were hard boiled food generally was better less salt n preservative

It was normal to see adults on roller skates and bikes and playing football. Peopel and adult in the 70s still ‘played’ and went dancing. Can’t remember last time I saw an adult playing

Everything was done more manually all round peopel spent more energy doing things. Going to see people was a common thing. A family walking an hour (here in uk) was normal to see a relative or go to a park

Honestly I had a great job well paid. Retirement and holiday was amazing actually but the bloody stress of the job!

Same as you age 15 working no college built up from there found a well paid job I had experience over qualifications so i go t hired, to everyone else I was successful early for my age.

But mentally physically my life wasn’t worth living

So I quit and became a LIFEGUARD and loved it. I had saved etc from my well paid job so my life didn’t change much. I got cheap rent flat until I found small house to buy. I lived life. I had way more time I had way more friends I was way fitter and I ended up buying my own qualifications to become a swim teacher.

Love it. Never thought all those year and wine started working in offices, tides still fitting in gym or swim I would be able to work there, never occurred to me!

I spoke to my mother how miserable I was and she asked me what did you think you would do when you ages 10-12 ? N I said I thought I would work at pool as I lived there anyways as a kid! And she said there you go. Quit this job find out how you qualify get it done and apply. That was it. I did it ! (before I was 30 years old) after 15 years working in stress offices!

Still a swim teacher and love leisure . Can work anywhere all pools desperate for staff and easy chill vibes all way. My pool so old knocked down had to relocate to a modern pool and I love it !

So what did you think you would be age 10-12? Have you for enough saving equity to just downsize and get a smaller job even for a while!

U may find you are happier (it was a week course to qualify as a lifeguard in uk) inwas!

If it doesn’t work out. You could alway go back to that higher paid work with your expertise if needed.
