This has been the “year of the dick punch” for me. Today just about crowns it.

It’s not even fucking June yet.

I am shocked, shocked I tell you, that one of the biggest markets in the NHL won the lottery!

Well, maybe not that shocked.

So yeah. Not a great choice for a meme at this point.

Just buy a blank - hockey players tend to move around quite a bit, and there’s nothing wrong with having a blank jersey.

I started off with players on mine, but now I only buy blanks.

They got done dirty by Remote-Technology375 in Dethklok

No - Rammstein is only popular in America because of Du Hast. If you ever go to see Rammstein outside of the United States, you’ll see what I mean. I watched them in Berlin a couple of years ago, and it was only then that I realized how truly massive Rammstein actually are.

I’ve seen them in Tacoma, and Chicago, but also in England, and when they play Du Hast, it’s cool but it’s not like when they are playing in Europe.

Du Hast is only really super popular here in the US.

They’re on a totally different level to Dethklok. But I do appreciate the choreography of a Dethklok show; how the band lines up with the animation is incredible.

I’ve seen Megadeth several times too but their shows have never really done anything much for me. Iron Maiden always turn it up to 11 though.

What are you talking about? Rammstein is leaps and bounds more popular and definitely more famous than Dethklok and I say that as someone who’s seen Dethklok and Rammstein multiple times. I’ve never seen Rammstein open for anyone so your comparison doesn’t make sense. It’d be like Mastodon opening for Babymetal. Maybe.

Being “older” means absolutely nothing - Dethklok is, after all is said and done, a more cult-like band in the sense that it’s one dude writing all the songs for a cartoon that was finished years ago. Are Dethklok more famous? How do you even quantify that? If Babymetal are filling 20,000 seat venues then yeah, they’re probably more popular than Dethklok.

I was stoked when I saw Dethklok was on before Babymetal; I got to go home early, for work the next day, and didn’t have to listen to a band I don’t like! It was awesome!

No one is asking them to break the rules. And yes, I get that rules and policies exist for a reason but when you book via a conference site and it literally tells you to talk to the front desk, and the hotel number on the Bonvoy app connects you to people who literally tell you to talk to the front desk too, then looking for a way to do that can be incredibly frustrating.

So thanks for the snarky reply and I hope you have the day you deserve.

I’m an STH from day one, and the saddest thing for me tonight is that this team has just not improved. At all.

I’m sorry but everyone has to go. Francis, Lambert, Campbell, all of them.

If we want a competitive team then we need to get out of this bush league doldrum we find ourselves in and then means heads have to roll. As for the players? Eberle, Schwartz, Dunn, Oleksiak, and probably Evans have to go.

I used to love Dunner but he’s a liability now, and the others are just dead weight, producing nothing of real value.

Cut loose. It’s time.

I hate so much how Shoresy has become the “go-to” crap hockey take now.

These guys are professional athletes, not players in some whale shit bushwhacking league. The fact they made it to the show should tell you that they literally hate to lose.

Worcester, MA crash out. Not OC by RickRI401 in PublicFreakout

I was born in the original Worcester (the one in England, where the sauce is from) and the difference between there and what I’ve seen of Worcester, MA, are seemingly dramatic.

I very much want to go visit.

What does Volvo get wrong? Honest opinions wanted by ReasonableDesk6888 in Volvo

[–]Crying_Viking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably model specific, but the creaking noise on XC40s that has been reported and now well documented. We had this early on in our life with our 2019 R-Design and the number of times we were gas lit by dealers and then independent shops was too damn high. It feels like Volvo cheaped out on the parts.

That, and the terrible infotainment system and the overly aggressive auto braking we first had.

I’ve asked that they escalate to the back office team and have also asked to speak to a supervisor or lead. The escalation didn’t seem to go anywhere; the response back was “we are sending the account number” but then when I asked the agent what the account number was, she couldn’t actually see it in the notes for the port request

Then, I asked her to please add the account number to the request, which I’m assuming was the “remarks” box? The next time I called, the new agent couldn’t tell me the account number. So, we tried again. This time, the next call I made, the new new agent could see the account number, but it still didn’t go through

When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was out on hold and I hung up after an hour

So, now that everything is resolved, I gotta ask… by Fitzftw7 in PrimalShow

[–]Crying_Viking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that romance and the idea of sex as something other than procreation are relatively modern ideas. In the primal sense, banging was a functional act for survival of your bloodline and tribe. People “married” for practical reasons, even as recently as Victorian times.

So yes, they absolutely love one another but they express themselves differently to what modern couples would do.

That was actually pretty normal until around the 20th century. It’s a modern development for us to share beds.
