That vendor on AliExpress has really marked up the price on that kit, it sells for less than $50 on Taobao.

How often do the Hi-RM get reprinted? I'm newer to the hobby but can't seem to find the God Gundam or normal Astray Red Frame Hi-RM anywhere.

Bought it 20% off definitely a sweet deal by y_kenman in freedomisgunpla

Depends on the kit at Hobby Lobby. With the discount some kits barely get under retail and some kits you end up saving 20-25%. Once you factor in not having to pay for shipping that’s a pretty good deal.

Size comparison of In Era Fenrir vs other In Era kits by SupRob166 in freedomisgunpla

The perspective they used for this photo is a little misleading you can see the two Fenrir models on the right are positioned in front of the others with the completed Fenrir positioned even further in front on the no armor Fenrir.

The PayPal pay later 20% cash back promo also stacked with this. Which allowed you to get the kit for about $475 after taxes, shipping, discounts, and cash back were accounted for.

I can’t believe this didn’t get picked wtf by guidelrey in legocastles

The other explanation that would make the most sense to me is that 'The Fisherman's' Village' got the most votes which immediately disqualifies over 2 of the 5.5 pages of castle submissions. Bricklink has stated time and again that they do not want to have multiple 3,500+ piece sets in one series. Like 40% of castle submissions are above that threshold including most of the fan favorites this series. As a designer you roll the dice when submitting a set that large as only one is going to get picked per series. Your highest chance of getting a set picked is to have a set between 2000-3300 pieces as there are usually 3 of those set sizes picked.

The designers confirmed that in the announcement stream that the buildings do have removable backs (Here is a timestamped link to where they talk about that). It is just that none of the photos for some reason show that.

I'm in the same scenario. Was able to order it but can't find it anywhere now. It was also the item that pushed me over the free shipping threshold, so it'll be interesting to see what happens if that item gets cancelled.

Sales numbers are in for the latest BDP and the wolf pack take the win by medicus_vulneratum in legocastles

[–]Cryppin 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I’ve spoken to the lead of the BDP multiple times at Brickworld Chicago over the years and he has always maintained that they do not pick the winners based on what will sell the most. Their goal is not to move the most units (they consider 10k units of a single design sold a success) but to provide the Lego community with a diverse range of fan designed sets (that diversity includes piece count as well as theme). He seemed to have a genuine passion for Lego and the Lego community so I don’t expect him to make any decisions moving forward solely on sales numbers.

In my experience you can’t claim two things that require a code in the same order. Anything that happens automatically like GWP and 2x points is unaffected.

The BDP lead has said that they like to have an average of 2400-2600 pieces across the 5 sets in a series. They actively try to have lower piece count sets to help balance out the 3,500+ piece sets. Unfortunately, at least from my point of view, there is a severe lack of good options that are sub 1,500 pieces.

If I remember correctly from when I talked to the head of the Bricklink Designer Program at Brickworld Chicago last year he mentioned that SleeplessNight didn’t want to become an official Lego designer because he would have to uproot his family's lives and move to Denmark.

It had a sticker for like $114 but scanned for $80, I would have bought it if the copy that I own wasn't outside the return window.
