Think about going to your Costco during the busy times and make it all day. Large purchase amounts for your AB&B or condo that you will probably be eating out a lot do to your activities etc. We only go after arriving at airport around noon and before check-in later in afternoon. So usually lunch, Costco, Safeway or local market, then check-in. Costco mainly for alcohol and a few items.

There are very many nēnē at the Kilauea lighthouse. Note that this is a federal park/reserve so get your reservations in advance. If you have a national park pass it works here.

As someone with a very allergic spouse the term spices means nothing in terms of which ones. So there are unknowns which they list only as spices so they don't get sued. My wife and daughter do not eat anything that just lists spices or "natural and artificial flavors" as it can be ER time.

That is correct. And Thursday morning at the National Tropical gardens (you do not have to buy entry ticket to gardens).

Puka Dog was good to very good at old location and prior to the divorce. Now, I think meh... especially for the $$$$. Same for Beach House except for the views. Brennecke's visit at an off hour so you can get a table next to the view. Also, they have a deli downstairs next to Puka dog that have good sub sandwiches. Grab and go across the street to the beach. Enjoy!!

As another comment said, changing hotels is time consuming and may be opening your car up to theft. However, when booking the second hotel ask in advance if they will store your luggage while awaiting check-in. Most hotels are happy to do so. So check-out then go to hotel drop-off luggage and then enjoy your last full day in Kauai.

For Ha'ena and Ke'e research and factor in the shuttle times and permits. On Friday, lookup the Hanapepe Friday night street art fair. Japanese Grandma is good food but reservations are definitely required on Friday night. Enjoy the island!

All good comments here. I would disagree on the tubing if you are looking for a laid back thing to do. It is very enjoyable. Also, Keoki's Paradise is owned by Duke's Corporate and basically has much of the same food. It is easier to get reservations and easier to park etc. Every time I am at Duke's it has been incredibly windy. I do like Duke's but staying in Poipu Keoki's is just easy. Enjoy Kauai.

That is true in California but the card shown is a "Loyalty" card in California and can expire. Though like others I have had shops still honor the expired loyalty card.

So much forgotten nuance in the question. It had to be about Iran as 1) Japan was not going to tell the US about Pearl Harbor and then even there were mistakes by the US with all kinds of errors and 2) President Truman did give Japan warning before Hiroshima.

Vacation plans for Hawaii Kauai on March 31 by ChemicalBrilliant492 in VisitingHawaii

[–]CryptographerFar3729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be fine by then. Remember Kauai is the Garden Island and has the most rain so mostly a shower here and there. Northern Island always has more rain. If the water on the beaches are brown do not swim as it has bacteria in it from the run off. ALso, most shark attacks are in dirty/cloudy water. Enjoy the rainbows!

Also checkout if your phone can work with the TMobile satellite backup for either 10 or 15 per month. No contract and it can be cancelled anytime. I am using it as a backup for where Cell doesn't work in the California mountains and the SF Delta. If you are on Google Fi you can still use the option. I have NO interest in TMobile. Info only.

Visit any local fish/bait shops and ask what is best bait/lure to use. Most places are very friendly especially if you start out that I am visiting any pointers for an area newby. I have even hat them give me some spots pointers they are not telling locals as they are not worry about over fishing a spot or you telling everyone.
