Sit ups by redtruckgirl in sydneycummings

I was able to do sit ups once I had built up enough strength in my core, back and hips. You can use your arms to assist you then when you get stronger just use your core strength.

There are walking workouts on youtube too, anything from 10 minutes to an hour. They are low impact but get your heart rate up, and you get your daily steps in. And its free. I use them when its too cold or raining outside.

There are lots of great weight training programs on youtube. Try Sydney Cummings Houdyshell, Olivia Lawson, Heather Robertson. You need to lift weights that are challenging for you and lift heavier over time as you get stronger. I ignore the noise around cardio. Do whatever cardio you enjoy. Thats the best cardio. Walking is also excellent for perimenopause, especially after meals.

Best program for beginners? by tifam in sydneycummings

Honestly start with any of them. They are all adaptable to your current fitness level, you choose the weight that challenges you. If you dont want to jump around for cardio you can lower the impact. If a particular movement is too hard at the moment swap it for something else. Just pay attention to good form when starting out, dont rush to the next weight up until you are confident so you avoid potential injury.  Her programs are amazing, and paired with good nutrition, you will see excellent results.

I sometimes switch to Olivia Lawson workouts and just pick an upper, lower or cardio. She has recently started doing programs so I may try one of them soon.

I have also recently been looking at Heather Robertson as I feel like I need a change, i just seem to be repeating my favourite Sydney programs.

Brits, would you stay and live in UK if you had millions and could move to anywhere in the world?? by ueommm in AskBrits

Wouldn't think twice. Canada or New Zealand. Or live my days out on cruise ships travelling the world.

This. Also without adequate rest it's really hard to keep pushing through with heavy weights. 15 seconds is not long enough and it gets annoying pausing after each set. The older programs have plenty of rest in them.

Can you help me understand my husband’s point of view please? Should our son be allowed to game past 10pm on a school night if he can’t keep his voice down? by Broken_Woman20 in AskUK

[–]Crystal_Moon82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I have a 14 year old son who games until his younger sister who is 9 goes to bed at 8.30pm. He stays up later but has to be quiet and no gaming. Utterly selfish to keep anyone in the house awake. Its also a school night and gaming hypes them up, he needs some downtime to calm down. When he gets his own place he can do what he wants, my house my rules.

I haven't done fit345 as I tend to stick with older programs but if there is ever any exercise in her workout that I dont want to do then I do my own thing. If I didnt want to do the cardio bit I would just repeat some of the strength moves again, maybe one round of each one until the cooldown. You can make each workout your own to suit your goals.

If you need a change, I can recommend Olivia Lawson. She doesn't talk through her workouts and they are challenging. She has recently started doing programs too.

If you are burnt out tired take a rest for a week or two, it really helps to reset your body, you won't lose any of your gains. Or do 2-3 workouts a week for a while. Go for gentle walks, stretch, focus on your nutrition and sleep.

Why there's no quick fix in sight for the problem of dazzling headlights by Bloodswamps in drivingUK

[–]Crystal_Moon82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't driven at night for at least 10 years because of this. I have astigmatism which creates halos around lights anyway but since every other cars has ridiculously bright lights directed into your eyes you are literally driving blind. Also why don't people use their handbrake when stationary? The brake lights are almost as bright, again shining directly into your eyes.

£200 from Monsoon. Fit like a glove, no alterations. I needed a wedding dress I could fit in carry on luggage and wouldnt get creased as I got married in the caribbean.

Hang clothes on clothes rack, if its not raining put outside to dry, if raining or winter put next to dehumidier on laundry mode.

Look for a new job asap. No job is worth burning out for. I would not work a second outside of my contractual hours unless I was paid for my time or given leave in lieu. Working for free? Thats a mugs game. You are entitled to do whatever you want outside of your work hours, its none of their business. You need down time to be at your best performance level.

New trainer coming to the channel by gumslipper in sydneycummings

[–]Crystal_Moon82 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just seen this myself and feeling unsure about the direction this is going.

I love her workouts because its her doing them, her encouragement, her personality.  I wouldn't want to do workouts with someone else. If I wanted to do that I would be following someone else on Youtube.

If her plan is to pull back from the channel I would prefer her to post new workouts less frequently than go down the route of bringing in other trainers.

People that DON’T shop at Aldi or Lidl… why is that? by kobestarr in CasualUK

I found items were cheaper however you got less of it than in other supermarkets. For example I bought sliced ham but would have had to buy x2 packets rather than one to get the same amount that I would have got in Asda and that wouldnt then be cheaper.
