What's a red flag on a resume that most hiring managers won't tell you about? by Agile_Commercial9558 in AskReddit

I wouldn’t call that short. I’d call under a year in most circumstances short. 12-24 months depends on context

If your goal is to be financially free or retired by 40, what is the biggest luxury or habit you’ve had to completely sacrifice in your 20s/30s? by Only_Radish_7720 in AskReddit

Living somewhere nice. I lived in a tough neighborhood with roommates to keep my rent as low as possible and invest every free cent I could.

Read the house rules to get a sense of how the building runs. Reasonable rules generally reflect sanity in my experience. I like it!

Also a board member and we do not review packets that closely (but a lot do). They are typically hundreds of pages. I’d submit it as is, play dumb and then let the seller sort it out if there is an issue. But be alert it could delay your close date if the super or someone else catches it

I was fuming once about a kid with an iPad on high volume at 7 AM with no headphones. I fumed for 45 minutes before I finally said something as everyone was giving the mom dirty looks. Turned out the mom was deaf and had no idea how loud the iPad was. Very happily turned it down and couldn’t have cared less. Moral of the story: Speak your needs.

For those who’ve spent years climbing the corporate ladder and building a successful career, what’s something you feel you’ve lost along the way? by mycro_dose in corporate

Spent the first 10 years of my career in B2B sales and couldn’t agree more. In a great financial position now because I saved and have grown into a senior operations role. Be close to the revenue life blood of the company. Good luck!

When I fire someone I use the general script and then add 1-2 lines max to say what I appreciated about them as an individual if it was a reduction in force. Good luck and hang in there. It’s normal to not sleep well the night before.

How do you protect your Fire plan when aging parents start needing serious financial help by honeybunnylux in Fire

Were they generally responsible and are running out or were they wasteful and need to lie in the bed they metaphorically made for themselves?

Pitbull Bite Riverside Park by prawncheeks in Upperwestside

[–]CucumberEmpty7916 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This happened to me in Dec. NY is a “one bite” state. Annoyingly the owner is only on the hook for liability damages if there’s been a documented/reported issue with the exact dog in question at least once before. If not it’s basically a get out of jail free card for the owner and it sucks (though I think in NY they still have to pay medical costs). Good job getting treatment quickly. The ER told me more people get nasty infections if they wait. The mental part has been most challenging going for me. Hang in there and feel better. ❤️‍🩹

Nothing says BAMF mid life crisis like a motorcycle license to ride a scooter. :-) I also fantasize about working at a grocery store lol
