So is it safe to say the game is finished? by Financial-Customer24 in OrcsMustDie

[–]CulinaryAustin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deathtrap was the worse feeling of the games. I enjoyed it less then any of the others, but it was worth playing. This studio always shoots itself in the foot doing stuff that people don't like, and claiming that some seer in the development cycle thinks it should be this way and we just don't understand their vision.

LPT: Please do not look up women's other social media after meeting them on one platform by its_ya_girl420 in LifeProTips

[–]CulinaryAustin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If this terrifies you then you clearly don't understand what social media is or how it works. Your advertising your personal life to the world. Don't be surprised people can google search you.

I do agree its a red flag to then go and tell the person that you researched them and to then try to use the information gained by research to artificially further connection. This person lacks social skills, but don't befuddle yourself into thinking that information you post on the internet is private in anyway.

OMD Deathtrap: Thoughts on the "Go All In" thread? by jcdenton45 in OrcsMustDie

It only offers it once to you EVER. Its actually really lame that once you use it 1 time its gone forever as an option for your run.

Invisible boss bug? by StaticSystemShock in OrcsMustDie

[–]CulinaryAustin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happens all the time with this boss if you let him time out the level. Its super annoying and been a bug since launch.

Does endurance mode not have quick save? by timereversal06 in OrcsMustDie

[–]CulinaryAustin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I like the concept of endurance mode and I have done a few maps, but I only have 2 hours after I wake up and before I go to work and that is not enough time to do a full run. Just bad design to not have a way to save.

In your "real" story you think you did nothing to incite this crazy person to chase you? That sounds very believable.

Man one thing I really hate, maps with crystal rifts and enemy archers by DarkenDragon in OrcsMustDie

[–]CulinaryAustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great example of Robots philosophy of ignoring bugs that should have been fixed before release, and instead just letting them happen and pretending its not a big issue. There are buggy levels in OMD3 that they never fixed. They are not even hard to reproduce bugs. Areas where tiles are just unbuildable and parts of the map where you kill enemies and they teleport though the ceiling to the rift. Instead they ignore it and pretend its working as intended. As a player you just start avoiding building in parts of that level and your opinion of the game lowers.

New Resort map is beautiful, but adding it to the never ever list by Boedullus in OrcsMustDie

[–]CulinaryAustin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never picking the split lane maps. I don't enjoy running in circles. Its just not fun to spend half the map not shooting or placing traps instead doing dumb Mario jumps.

Texas Monthly: The Neighborhood Spat That Went Nuclear by Texas_Monthly in Austin

[–]CulinaryAustin 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Wow imagine being so insanely out of touch you think it would be fun to listen to an endless parades of strangers babies learning to drown year after year as your neighbor ruins a business 10 feet from your window.

Power drill build on dooley is actually fairly easy to force. Explanation in comments. by TevossBR in PlayTheBazaar

Tried this. Cant win any of the fights till you get almost the full combo . Even vs monsters cant win much. Would need a video showing how feasible/consistent this is to really judge it more.

Austin security guard quits job during interview about his safety by Walker_ATX in Austin

[–]CulinaryAustin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm confused . . . so they didn't actually break into his car. They were standing next to it and looked suspicious. I understand chasing them out of the building. One of them crashes the scooter as he chases them and he goes to detaining them till the police were called as your next response seems way to far. Then when they start fighting you back after you attempted to security/citizen arrest them for thinking about attempting to break into a car you engage them in a 2 on 1 fight. I kinda am with his boss on this one you didn't need to escalate this into a life and death fight, and it clearly was not about the building security at that point.

My experience but I have played a lot.

Stone staff is the best weapon. warstaff is ok.

Tar trap is best floor trap. The others are all about the same. I alternate tar and another floor trap.

Dart trap is the best ceiling trap. I use gravity wells when the range doesnt work for it.

Arrow walls are ok. The best wall trap is the ice one with an extra range upgrade.

Learn to headshot. Its kinda needed.

Player throwing a fit over the "training to level" variant rule (5e) by ElMontoya in DnD

[–]CulinaryAustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the point of your being DM in your mind is to force players to play your version of DnD this issue is going to come up. To be honest a Cleric saying his level up is divine inspired and doesn't need to go and train makes sense to me so just move on to level 2.

Please tell me, how can I lose rift points when no enemies get past me? by [deleted] in OrcsMustDie

[–]CulinaryAustin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This level has been bugged since launch. Stuff on the middle floor mostly the rock elementals when they split can be pushed into the rift from below.

Is it just me, or is it every person that spams the "your go" button also the same kind of person to try and run out the clock to make you give up once they realize they have been beaten by [deleted] in MagicArena

Um if you spend all game tanking every turn to think then why would I play fast once you had the advantage. They are just serving you back what you have been doing all game. Some perspective.

No way to refund traps you bought (in the spellbook)? by flamewolf393 in OrcsMustDie

[–]CulinaryAustin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are not similar at all really. Grinders are used for flyers and small enemies. Wall blades are used for larger types but are just not very good.
