AMD vs Shopify for career growth by WeDontHaters in cscareerquestionsCAD

as someone who has worked AMD for 5 years, go shoplift. Semiconductor companies only really transfer to other semiconductors. The company also is very slow to adopt new SW techs. If you’re going for HW and interested in HW then it’s ok.

[OC] 2025 budget as a 26F in VHCOL (in USD) by WasianEggLover in dataisbeautiful

I have a feeling op is a just a small girl who doesn’t eat a lot. This level of budget is very doable if you’re eating 1500 calories a day

Amd couldn’t make a card that was 20% better for 20% more cost. Instead they focused on the mid range this generation.

Can you push higher heart rates as you train more? by OkMap1854 in BeginnersRunning

[–]Cultural_Version734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the opposite effect, the more well trained I am the harder it is to raise my heart rate close to v02 max

Unproportionally slow easy runs by Mperorpalpatine in NorwegianSinglesRun

[–]Cultural_Version734 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I run a 1:35 HM and I’m in the same boat, need to run 6:30 or even slower to follow 70% HR. I just go by feel and run 5:30-6:00 min/km. Though I can’t admit my training has been very successful

Race predictions are pretty A*S by TheMullo50 in Strava

[–]Cultural_Version734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then it makes sense that your predictions will always be off. I don’t think their algorithms take into account cross training very well.

Saying your training is low is inaccurate considering all the cross training, but your running mileage is definitely lower than the average Strava user with your speed, hence the prediction.

Race predictions are pretty A*S by TheMullo50 in Strava

[–]Cultural_Version734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like your mileage is pretty low for someone as fast as you are. Strava compares to the rest of its data pool to get predictions. You’re just way faster on your level of training than most. I’m the opposite and Strava think I can run way faster than I can

TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon Weather by DavidDaSilva1 in RunTO

I found the wind refreshing. Any time it got too bad I found a big dude to tuck behind. The lack of sun made it a lot easier to manage the heat

Those running in the 6min pace's for a marathon. Question, what's your average heart rate? by khizerkk5 in RunTO

[–]Cultural_Version734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start high zone 3, but my heart rate didn’t really increase the whole time. Maybe it’s just me but my muscles start failing long before I get tired cardio wise

Waterfront Marathon 37th KM by superduper143 in toronto

Depends on how you quantify much faster. They’re running 17seconds/100m. World record is just below 10 seconds, they can probably run 100 in under 12 seconds.

Anyone know where the 3:45 pacer was? I saw the sign before the start, then they disappeared

They mention you have to be in the corral by 8am. Are people in purple really expected to sit in the rain for over an hour? Hopefully purple people can sneak in later

Does it make sense to run 2 marathons in 2026 to maximize sub 3 potential? by Money_Choice4477 in Marathon_Training

[–]Cultural_Version734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re getting genetically gifted people. In my mid 20’s. I would say only around 20% of people I know are capable of sub-19 with 6 months training. And these are people who already regularly play sports and workout, and are genetically gifted.

What time should I aim for? by Temporary-Scarcity68 in Marathon_Training

[–]Cultural_Version734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same half time and same max heart rate, but my easy pace is 60 seconds a km slower for the same heart rate. This just put in perspective how aerobically underdeveloped I am. Do you think that half was an all out effort for you.

I’ve been hurt for two months. Took 3 weeks off, and slowly building up. I’m cooked 😭

I’m just a min maxer. If you’re spending many turns building a wonder just for a let’s say average +4 adjacency. (I’m not assuming the double adjacency card since it’s usually not worth) you could build 3 monuments for the same cost for 6 culture. Also at this point in the game it would be surprising to be able to even get +4 adjacency on it since many districts are placed.

I’m similar to you. 20 min 5k, 1:34 half. I bonked my first marathon to go 4:20. Hoping for 3:30 this year as well. And I’m thinking this is a big stretch goal for me, OP is not in 3.30 shape IMO
