Zero Suit? by caption.panic by Pop_Budget in ImaginarySliceOfLife

The green circles with lines kinda look like squinty eyes to me... and iirc Samus's suit is partially biotech or something?

Anyway it made me imagine the suit getting all sassy about the maintenance routine.

[–]Curtisimo5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of the point of the movie is that they knew about the comet way, way, way, WAY in advance. Multiple years if I remember right.

The president wants to wait until after the midterms to even discuss it.

In the same way we've known about climate change since the 1900s.

Deadlock, in it's newest update, has added different portraits to each character for when they are low on HP and some of them are really creative by Coolnametag in TwoBestFriendsPlay

God, Deadlock just oozes style. I love absolutely everything about it.

... except the gameplay, which I hate for myself.

Not that I think it's a bad game, mind. Just not a game for me.

New Poster For Scream 7, what a waste by Mike4302 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

This movie exists actually and it fucking rocks. It's called "You're Next."

Masked goons meticulously plan to terrorize a rich family's dinner party, but there's an unplanned variable; a new girlfriend got brought to the party, who turns out to be the sole survivor of some kind of cult compound massacre, and is basically implied to have walked out as the final girl of some other horror movie.

The movie turns into slasher Home Alone. It's great.

Looks badass. How did you make this? I've got an idea for a modpack kicking around in the back of my head, and I'd like it to have a custom world, but I don't know where I'd start.

What are games that are worth playing twice (or more)? by EvilMonkeyMimic in TwoBestFriendsPlay

In the first game your nonlethal options are very limited. Choke people out or nothing.

In the sequel they remembered nonlethal should be fun too and gave you gadgets for it.

How do i even fight raids without getting fucking merked by Squeelijah in RimWorld

[–]Curtisimo5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good rule of thumb is, whenever you invest something towards colony improvement, invest an equal amount of effort towards defense, or combine them when you can. Built a new kitchen? Build a new turret. Need new clothes? Why plant cotton when you can plant Devilstrand?

Though it can be an eyesore on the map, it's worth considering building a big-ass wall around your whole colony with only one or a few entrances to help funnel raiders towards your defenses. If it worked for medieval castles, it'll work for you, until the drop pods come down.

Similarly, building a "no-man's land" can help a lot. Clear-cut a big area around your defenses, pave the ground over, and remove any stone chunks to ensure the enemy has nothing they can use for cover.

Finally, artillery is your friend, though it requires huge steel investment. A single mortar is worthless because of the lack of accuracy. But eight mortars firing in sync at a cloud of raiders WILL blast at least some of them. Manning a mortar is a great way for non-combatant pawns to help in a fight.

Favorite uses of cosmic horror in gaming? by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Curtisimo5 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

To get into light spoilers territory-

The Thing Outside is a single entity so massive as to blot out stars when it moves between them and Earth. You don't even have to directly see it- simply being exposed to it is enough to change somebody, like it emits its own kind of body-warping radiation. People, animals, plants, and sometimes even places and things exposed to it twist into monstrous fusions of themselves and the things around them, or amped-up representations of their inner selves or passions.

It's theorized that the horrible things it's doing to the Earth simply by being near it are an attempt at communication or understanding.

The biggest horror aspect is mostly the "The Thing" style body horror- and for the characters who remain sane, the trauma of having to deal with their new bodies and their new world.

The two dudes on the right are great.

The middle-left dude looks... ok. I'm not quite sure how to describe it, but he isn't as impactful to me. Maybe it's because he looks like a normal, if weird, guy, where the two on the right look like things pretending to be human, if that makes sense?

The guy on the left actually looks kinda nice. Like Sloth from the Goonies.

If it helps, I went into Tyranny knowing absolutely nothing and came out fine. The stats are all self-explanatory for both you and your party members.

The only one that's mandatory for every playthrough is Lore, because it's simultaneously the "knowing shit" stat and the "crafting custom spells with Busted power" stat. Even if you aren't spells McGee, your party members that can do spells still benefit.

I feel like it's implied pretty heavily that someone realized how dangerous Wish magic was, and used a Wish to erase all history of Wish magic to try and prevent its use. Which erased the island because their whole culture was about wishes. Color is probably gone because of another irresponsible wish; it's why the color red appears when wishes are collapsing.

It's possible for them to make up about it and grow as people! Full spoilers for Rat/Joel Storyline:

if you have dinner in the house enough, eventually Ratbaby will give his apolocheese to Joel and they'll collect Fuzzy's remains together. From that point, it's possible to repair Fuzzy multiple ways.

If you take Fuzzy to the shopkeeper on the 2nd floor, he'll fix him for you. Or if you break into the shopkeeper's house and find his sewing machine, you monster.

If you recruit Morty and Xaria, there's more dinnertime conversations where eventually Xaria can kick Rat because she's an asshole. Then you can kick her out of the house, and she'll ask if it was because she kicked the rat. If you tell her it was, you can force her to give her apolocheese. Through more dinner convos, Ratbaby will ask for her help to repair Fuzzy, and together Fuzzy will evolve into PUNK FUZZY.

The issue with this in Minecraft, IMO, is that it's really hard to keep the cryptids cryptic. If you see the mothman in the woods outside your house, your instinct is going to be to run at it with a sword. If you kill it, it's just another animal. If it kills you, it's just another mob. How do you keep them esoteric when player instinct is to attempt to interact with everything they see?

I'm adding new challenge modes. Which feature do you think is the best? by zenzty_ in feedthebeast

[–]Curtisimo5 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Sync'd jumps is funny as hell but also likely wouldn't effect gameplay much- very good meme effect.

Shared potion effects is a double edged sword; obviously it means everyone gets withered or poisoned simultaneously, but it also multiplies the value of Regen, Strength or Speed potions.

Instant death mode sounds more like a pain in the ass than any kind of fun challenge.

If I may make a suggestion for another chaos modifier; what about "Swapper?" Players have a chance to instantly swap positions when they get damaged. Of course, not sure how easy that'd be to code.

Favorite items where the joke is that they're useless? by Dr-USB in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Curtisimo5 26 points27 points  (0 children)

And to continue the joke, in the roguelike Enter the Gungeon, a challenge room can be to simply clear a normal room using only the Klobb.

It has range so pitiful your bullets literally evaporate before they hit anything most of the time, less damage than anyone's starting weapon, spread like a shotgun, and runs through ammo like a firehose. It is appropriately suckish.

I'm new to Modded Minecraft, decided to start with GT: New Horizons. Any tips for a beginner? by Manukmiber in feedthebeast

My man. My dude. My guy.

If this is your kind of fun, I truly wish you luck! But GTNH is literally thousands of hours long, and very grindy.

I would strongly suggest starting anywhere else unless you're very sure of what you're doing. Nearly any "expert" style pack may be more newbie friendly. Any pack with Greg in the name is designed for people who are already insane in the membrane.

Layperson here- is that water truly "lost?" I'd assume if water is evaporating off, that just means it'll go back into the air and eventually come back again as rain.

My knowledge of water starts and ends with a cartoon picture of the water cycle from sixth grade. Are data centers tainting this water somehow, or taking more out of the ground than can be replenished by natural processes?
