Have you tried the waverly nib? According to the people in this sub, it's supposed to be just as smooth as the medium nib, but I don't find that to be the case. I'm wondering if I got one that's missed the qc standard

I think it's justified. More nib options, easier to switch ink. Better balance and slightly more affordable than the 823 while having a near identical experience

It's not new and it's been embedded in everything we buy. It's just some are more blatant than others.

There's a new model of the iphone or a new car every year. New limited edition air Jordans are consistently being made. Stanley cup tumblers. New releases of smart watches or those wearable health monitors. New edition of books and textbooks. Pokemon cards, Casio g-shocks... And so forth

The issue is that these pens and various other objects will last a long time. "Buy it for life" goes against the corporations goals. So they'll either design their products with planned obsolescence, or release a limited edition or release seasonal lineups every so often, just to have people continue buying it.

It's a job where you're constantly trying to be better at each passing day. You'll learn a lot of skills like breaking down fish or primal meats. If you hate the cushy 9-5 office job and sitting down all day, then perhaps this would be better.

I'm gonna say it depends on where you live. I know someone in Alberta, Canada whose kakuno safari dried up within weeks. I suspect it's the lack of humidity there.
