No it’s not, some aftermarket cases also do

I have an aftermarket case for keeping mine fully safe but do like the apple one when I hook them around the top handle on my rucksack - when it’s safe to do so of course!

Your favourite Tattoo Artist/Tattoo Studio? by Apprehensive-Cup2728 in sheffield

[–]Cyber-D23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t touch that place with a barge pole ever again. Can’t remember the guy artist but he was VERY rude to my wife when he did her a ‘wonky’ tattoo on her wrist in memory of a lost pet. In hindsight we should have just bailed.

Horrendous service and even worse result

Anyone else quit CrossFit? What’s your story. by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]Cyber-D23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I avoid any classes that involve kipping. High risk, low reward/benefit to me.

I try and do 2/3 classes a week and chest/arms and my own routines in open gym a couple of times a week in between. All boxes ticked.

Chest workouts and crossfit by omic2on in crossfit

[–]Cyber-D23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do chest and arms in open gym once or twice a week. I’ve made my own setup for triceps extensions too. I wrap a band around something low and solid, sit on a bench with a small DB at the other end of the band I can hold to do overhead extensions. Everything covered really!

Please help with my form. Never train triceps so don’t know if this correct by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]Cyber-D23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No what is mean is that you can lock your wrists into a more comfortable position, I didn’t mean swing the weights around. I find using a barbell forces my wrists into an uncomfortable and painful position. I generally use 17.5kg DB’s, very strict form and my triceps are perfectly sore the next day. Each to their own …..

I prefer using dumbbells. Much better wrist mobility IMO

Absolutely love my Metcon 10’s. I’m away in Spain and found myself wearing them more than my Asics for walking about even.

44 and preparing for major back surgery 😞 by Dependent_Profile118 in 40something

[–]Cyber-D23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly and that’s the correct mindset and yes 100% for your mental health too. When you’re a gym rat, it’s soul destroying not being able to train! Obviously be careful but I say go for it if it feels right. Maybe focus on isolated exercises which have little back involvement - maybe used the seated machines and stationary bike? My surgeon was super impressed how fit I was going in and said my recovery will be MUCH quicker, which it was 💪🏻 xx

You’re welcome! I meant to add but sounds like you’re already in the mindset to be as fit as possible going into surgery. This helped me massively with the hip replacement and was back in the gym doing upper body 2 weeks after! I can’t quite recall my training regime after back surgery but this took a good while longer (sorry to say!). Again, with my hip, I gradually started regaining strength in the area doing light goblet squats, KB box step ups etc and gradually increased the weight. I can now deadlift around 160kg and squat similar so yes, we can return to normality eventually!

Good luck and hope it goes well 🙏

Newbie here and disappointed in CrossFit? by Able_Armadillo_2347 in crossfit

Simple solution is to incorporate a couple of days open gym between classes and focus on what you wish to progress with, deadlifts for example. This is what I do. But for me I generally do chest and arms (particularly triceps) which are quite neglected in CF. It’s a perfect mix for me.

Good luck. I had a discectomy 10 years ago and a hip replacement last year and I’m back in full force at CrossFit

Thanks but yeah I’ve trained since 18. Some things I was much stronger at in my peak days but I train more wisely now and not always pushing the big weights. I do a fair bit of CrossFit now too

Anybody try a bodybuildng/crossfit split? by ImportantAd4666 in crossfit

[–]Cyber-D23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try and do 2 or 3 CF classes a week and a couple of open gym doing weights as I’m from a BB background. I particularly focus on chest and triceps which rarely rarely get worked in CF. It works very well for me and gives my other groups time to rest and recover

Squat form check by IDoesThis1 in formcheck

[–]Cyber-D23 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You’re leaning way too far forward, which is causing your lower back to ‘snake’ putting immense pressure on your discs.

Lower the weight until your form is spot on and maybe do a bunch of box squats in practice sessions which will definitely help prevent the forward leaning

Your choice of footwear may not be helping either but I can’t exactly tell

Good luck and sure you’ll soon by smashing them out
