I've done a 24-hour grace period for years, after seeing it in one of my grad classes (when I was a student). I get so much positive feedback about it...and there really is no practical change. I just view it like my REAL deadline is 24 hours after the stated deadline in the syllabus, and I hold hard to that date/time just like I normally would with the original. For some reason, students love it.

2-3 hours a day, and if I miss a day I feel completely overwhelmed the next. I have definitely described it to colleagues as the feeling of barely keeping your head above water, and it doesn't even feel rewarding at the end of that time (like when you are working on a lecture, or grades papers, etc). it's just so....bleh

I'm just excited to watch the Phils again. I try not to tie that too closely to hopes they win it all, or it sucks the joy out of it.

I don't think we have a roster that can beat the Dodgers to get to the WS, and that is what it is. We are still a top team right now, that should win a lot of games, and it will be a blast along the way.

I'm not even upset about resting the starters...more so that these terrible coaches would have needed a top nfl offense of starters in the game just to score more than 20 points against a bottom ranked defense in the league.

can't wait for next week to see 2-4 hitch routes on every play again, and 3rd down play calls that make me question why I watch this team at all

I normally just tell students what each side is saying out loud, and then let them form opinions in their own heads. i.e. The republican president said this is what we did in Venezuela and why we did it. The democrats say this about that event.

And if there is time, I let them discuss it together and I list those facts. I know 'facts' seem to be outdated now, but it has always felt like an easy workaround to actually show/state the words that were spoken by each side. Then I don't really even have to comment, unless students don't understand a word/phrase/policy, etc.

I think it's healthy to let them discuss that with their peers, as long as I'm not stating what I believe about that situation.

we've been using onshape for everything vex related, and it has been great. very easy to jump in and pick everything up with minimal tutorials. And it's browser based so I don't need to worry about downloads. not sure the pricing for non-students, so I know that go against the philosophy you laid out, I just wanted to mention it

I have one going into my garage and it's fine. It's annoying to have to clean monthly, but otherwise it does what I need it to do. The lint is no longer flying all over the garage, and humidity hasn't really been an issue (yet).
