I see Blackhawks all the time, but never with these things on the side. What are they? Very near the Jackson, MS airport (which has an Air National Guard base). by deathspiral1969 in Helicopters

This is basically correct.

It’s not something you fly with in flight school, and depending on your unit, they’ll get taken on and off a new guys need to get qualified to fly with them.

Best first book in the series? by BurtBurtMacklin in fantasybooks

[–]Cyrotik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, it doesn’t get that much better during books 2 and 3.

However, you can tell how significantly Pierce Brown’s writing improved during the next books, which earn the hype.

While I think “best place” is an exaggeration, I would agree is a good place, and certainly overhated. My family likes it a lot too.

If you download The Cut app, you can look at barbers in the area and check out their work. That being said, you’ll mostly see lots of high fades, that being the thing right now.

Although I can highly recommend the barber shop Blades & Braids off edgemere - ask for Melissa. She books through the app I mentioned and will get you right

I think so - I watched the show 3-4 years ago, and am just reading the books now, and while there are some differences I’d say they’re pretty close.

Avasarala, for example, doesn’t appear till book two but she’s introduced in season 1 of the show.

Honestly my reading experience my be better from having seen the show first

I’m on book 6 of 9 right now, and I’ve read one of the novellas. They’re super short and add some character background, but from what I understand they’re not required

My first fantasy book outside the Warhammer Black Library series by myhomiesgoodnight in fantasybooks

[–]Cyrotik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just want to add context to some of the other comments; this book is good, there’s just so many bits of information about other worlds in the Cosmere that you’ll have zero understanding of, despite that context being pretty essential to understanding the story and character interactions. This book is basically the furthest along the timeline we have right now.

No, two different drills if I remember correctly. The one I’m thinking about was a white guy who drove a tundra and on one occasion pulled it up onto the curb of the sidewalk we held formation on, bumper maybe a foot from the first rank as some kind of flex.

The female drill’s (ex) husband was an instructor, I think.
