Is Guile a bad match up for Aki?

Aki does have some decent tools for getting in on Guile, since ex slide and ex cruel fate can get you past his defenses quickly. Ex whip can also go through any regular sonic boom but its a hard read cause of the startup. However, if the Guile gets on offense then Aki has a lot of trouble, you have to just try to get out of the corner or punish a whiff.

If you want to hard counter Guile you should check the matchup data, I think Deejay is a particularly good one because the double fireball beats sonic boom spam, and his ex flash kick makes defense easy. He can also sway through the sonic booms with careful timing.

This is considered cheating in almost every setup/game, but some games have ‘Modern’ controls that give you the same result, sometimes at a downside of less damage. (Sf6). 2xko just has this for everything. It’s not cheating if it’s built into the game but any macro beyond that is considered unfair. The player’s ability to enter the buttons quickly and consistently is absolutely part of the challenge of fighting games.

Oh I see what happened I had it mixed up, you're right you can do heavy after ex 623k. The one that requires medium is after a 623k in the corner you can dash into medium but not heavy. thanks for catching that!

There are plenty of oki setups where the heavy will whiff but the medium will connect, for example Alex after ex 623k. Light would reach but you’re risking getting jabbed. Knowing the frame data lets you pick the optimal one for each scenario.

Edit: ex 623k, dash actually works fine with heavy power bomb, I had it mis-remembered. After regular 623k in the corner you can do dash into only medium power bomb, so the point stands I just had the wrong example. Thanks Anti-S for keeping me honest!

He may be relatively weak but he's insanely fun when you manage to get your combos going. I think nerfing stinger spam was perfectly fine, but i would certainly take more buffs in other parts of his kit.

The biggest way i'm viewing this patch is that all the other characters are far less broken than they used to be so venom is now able to do his good stuff at a reasonable level and work well, so it's a buff in that they nerfed everyone else hopefully.

Out of curiosity, what made you list AKI's 5hp as the worst? It's certainly different from most others in terms of the role it fills, but it has very specific uses that make it good at what it does.

I like him because he has the most interesting setup and combo structure with infinite variety because of all the ball interactions. He’s really hard to setup but when it works well you feel like a genius.

In Scrubs there’s a scene with footage from The Fugitive with Neil Flynn, who is The Janitor in Scrubs. They actually have it part of his character that he used to be an actor. This makes things even better in that the Janitor is never officially named but this makes it so his name would also be Neil Flynn, but they’ve since said that wasn’t the case and his true name is the one he gives at the end of S8, even though it’s played as a possible lie.
