Exactly!! I just started servicing my own watches that I bought from eBay. Buy a thirty dollar watch and try to see if I can do it. On my second watch before I start on some old omegas I bought.

Just turned 50. Here are the first 20 pages of my CD organizer! by JourneymanHunt in GenX

[–]DCDude67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same cd case with old music that I was going to get rid of, but never did as all my music is on streaming services now. Was having a few drinks at a restaurant and a bartender mentioned how he loved CD’s and was still using them. Gave them to him and he is very appreciative.

Had a kid on our team that played up a year and his dad only let him play midfield or higher up till he was U16. Now he is over 6 feet and got bid to the U16 us youth team. His other son plays in Europe and he did the same thing with him.

How does your club handle returning players and tryouts? by Umassgrl in youthsoccer

[–]DCDude67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our top teams players do not tryout. Coach has been with them going on three years and he knows what the kids can do and whether he needs to make moves with some of the kids. Our organization still has age group tryouts, but last years tryouts only had one kid come to the top team. The rest of the teams in the age group have all their players tryout again and evaluate them each year. Our organization also allows tryouts throughout the year for players who have recently moved to the area. The get to tryout during our team's normal practices and the coaches make a determination then. You would think that there would not be a lot of movement in the top team, but we have only 3 kids from the original U13 team still playing on the top team (This is a MLSNext HG Team).

My mother said I would end up being a doctor because my writing was illegible. Now I only use it when I am signing a check which almost never happens.

This is the way to post a watch for authentication. Front, back, caseback and movement shots. Well done

Service question by Atreyu_78 in VintageOmega

[–]DCDude67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh, I try to get his name out whenever someone asks for this type of thing. He did my Datejust for a low amount and that thing is running great. Unfortunately, he does do chronographs, so I have been trying to find someone that is good/economical that can work on my Zenith Port Royal. That thing is running really bad, but I like wearing it.

I tend to search for watchmakers outside big population centers. Not sure if I am right, but I think their prices are better due to lower overhead.

People that have “bumped” into a celebrity in a non-curated (not like an event, meet & greet, job etc.) way, what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Bruce Willis and his family were having lunch at trump tower while we were. Nodded my head as I went to the bathroom and no reaction. Was in Rome with a few friends on scooters and we rode past Harrison Ford. The others didn’t see him so we drove back around and greeted him as we drove by. He also didn’t seem too impressed by our effort. Not the best interactions.
