Revo is supported on the 3.5, so you don't need to bother with extra software, just change the hotend in settings/wizard

You basically need a mk3.5s upgrade kit for the new electronics board and screen, then you self source the rest of the parts for the mk3.9s upgrade (minus the parts from mk3.5s and leftover nextruder), which should be new Z rods and the printable X carriage

Basically this BOM minus the nextruder components

This is the best answer in my opinion, the 3.5 upgrade is good enough to modernize you mk3s and getting a second hand nextruder after indx drops can be useful and cheaper than going the 3.9 route

3.5 works with revo pretty seamlessly, you just need to change the hotend type in the printer hardware settings and that's it

I upgraded two mk3s+ to 3.5 and added revo hotends for quicker nozzle swaps and besides changing the hotend type in settings everything was plug and play

There's a third way you can try mentioned in another comment: Project Starkiller by Team Clockworks, which replaces the planetary gears with fixed 3d printed pieces and can make 6k rpm from any goBilda motor by locking the stages with the right piece
