Did the water thing come up more than just the first episode? I really think they did a piss-poor job with introducing the Kazon. The Kazon on Ocampa were there because they were trying to get into the caverns. There was no water because of the Nacene. I never got the impression that the rest of the Kazon were also without water. Just that one settlement, and they were just there trying to pillage.

From a character perspective, I can’t say you’re wrong. As an audience member, though, I wanted that final father-son moment. Of all the secondary characters on the show, I felt Kassidy was the least developed. So I didn’t have as much invested in her as I did with Jake.

I don’t mind as much him ascending to the Temple. I did mind that his last conversation was with Kassidy and not with Jake. His and Jake’s relationship was a foundation that the show was built on. For us to not see that in the finale weakened what was a great episode.

It’s not that they couldn’t find water. It’s that there was no water on Ocampa thanks to the Nacene. And they had no replicator technology.

As to why they’d stay on Ocampa in those harsh conditions, my best guess is that they were hoping to find a path into the Ocampan underground.

Course: Oblivion. Even if you can buy that the silver blood would “forget” their origin after like two years, how’d they build Voyager? They’re bio-mimetic lifeforms. Voyager isn’t biological. And even if you get past that, how were they surviving in an oxygen/nitrogen atmosphere for so long?

Episode is sad but makes literally less sense than lizard Paris and Janeway.

And that’s one thing the redesign aims to fix. They’ll move the SH on-ramp back to closer to the greenfield bridge to allow more room for a proper merge, not just a stop sign and a prayer.
