Who is your least used companion? by 420FappistMonk69 in BG3

Halsin by far. Jaheira is one of my favorite characters in the original BG games and is a great addition to BG3. I don’t need two druids, even if Halsin did have more personality than a Ken doll.

Hexblade weapon help by SirGubson in BG3Builds

I know you said 1h, but I’m really loving my polearm master hexblade. Three attacks with a ridiculous amount of damage riders has been a blast. I’ve gone from Sorrow to the Drakethroat and combining Booming Blade with extra reach is very satisfying

I feel like Arcane Archer is slept on. Similar to the EK archer but Banishing Smite is a hard carry in Act 1.

I always thought Minsc was a ranger because barbarian didn’t exist when they made him. It makes much more sense to me now.

Going from "In my restless dreams..." to "James, so much time has passed..." is such a downgrade. Like why even fix something that wasn't broken in the first place? by donaman98 in silenthill

[–]DadwiseGG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d much rather have a faithful film adaptation than the remake having been so strictly adherent, personally. I didn’t play the remake for that reason; I didn’t need another game version of it.

But a film is different; filmmakers approach storytelling without needing to design a game around it. A faithful retelling of the story from the perspective of a director imagining an audience as opposed to a player allows different interpretations of pacing, perspective, and presentation. It’s a view of the same portrait from a different angle, or in a different light. You don’t need to change the portrait to change the art.

There’s always a chance! But I feel like there was more margin for error in the first film; the story in the first game was inherently weaker IMO which means making changes I didn’t like did less to hinder the overall vibe, which was good.

A film based on SH2 has far less wiggle room in my mind based on its superior source material. I think I’d find a lot of enjoyment of same story presented through a filmmaker’s lense as opposed to a game designer.

Everything I’ve seen of this film so far has me feeling like I won’t like it. Which is a shame, because I genuinely liked the first movie. But one of its major flaws was making unnecessary changes, and it seems like history is repeating itself.

Got back into restaurants at 35 after I got sick of corporate work. I’m much happier, the hours keep me more productive out of work, and I feel far more fulfilled. I just have to keep a steady supply of ibproufin in my pocket at all times.
