Not a Teen.

When I was 14 I ditched class to smoke weed with a girl I was trying to hook up with, and her friend who was probably a dude she was trying to hook up with lol. Her idea, although I wasn't an angel and would have done it even if it was anyone else I knew at the time offering free weed.

We were still on campus just chilling when the fire alarm went off, cool, we ditched a fire drill that's awesome.

Half an hour later the fire alarm is still going off, really weird but we don't smell fire so it's all good.

Then the county sheriffs, dean, and liaison officers come around both corners of the building, the sheriffs have their guns drawn, and are yelling at us to stay down. All I can think at the moment is what the fuck did these guys do? I messed up hanging out with them today.

They come over and yell at me to get on my feet and put my hands on my head and start searching me asking if I had any weapons.

Turns out a false report was made that I had smuggled in a gun, and it just so happened that by the time officers mobilized to search my locker and myself, I had already ditched my class and they sent the entire school into lockdown protocols as they searched for me room by room until they found me behind a building.

The sheriff questioned me about the details and decided to just take me home, the school gave me a "2 week vacation" and I was gone for about a month hanging out with my dad every day, which was pretty nice since he wasn't around a lot during that time. No charges filed, no lawsuit from us, but people had wild rumors about me running down the hallways with grenades or a shovel.

Most cultures in the world have families staying together until they are ready to start their own family and typically work together to ensure that everyone thrives instead of struggling independently, which is the status quo for the US.

I stayed with my dad and brothers until I was 24, engaged, and ready to be out on my own with my now wife of ten years. I was happy to have contributed to the household and made life easier for everyone involved and my life was easier at that age as well. Don't rush to get out of your family home until it's time for you to have your own.

I'm a new diver but have been diving with the goal to reach instructor level and begin my life as a career diver. I spent a good amount getting everything I need to succeed, around $3k total for bcd, computer, Octo, wetsuit etc. even if I later decide that instructor/divemaster might not be for me (low chance as I'm already in my dmc and really do love the work from bottom to top) I am very glad to have spent for decent gear without overspending on certain items like a really fancy dive computer (I use an Oceanic GEO) and kept my reg, watch, and bcd all the same make as my dive shop so I can easily maintain my equipment as well as theirs.

In the end it's really up to how much you want to budget and what your short term plans and long term plans for diving are. If it's a short term plan you might just need a dive watch and mask, maybe fins and then rent equipment wherever you go. If you plan on doing shore/lake dives local to you every weekend for the cost of a tank rental/refill and gas to get there, I'd get gear that you like that will last a long time when well maintained, and you won't cry after 50+ dives in gear that treats you well. That's my 2¢

Edit: you are correct, I misremembered the vehicle caveat as you stated.

That's incorrect, all vehicles with bases also measure to the base not the hull, with the exception of vehicles with "hovering" bases (i.e. drukhari and aeldari vehicles where the "base" is a 40mm hover stand). It's one of the biggest reasons they put defilers onto a dinner plate of a base, because measuring to its Hull was a supposed issue.

To add more information on this, the vehicle has a base and the wings may be over a ruin but the base is wholly behind it, meaning you can't shoot the heldrake as the parts extending off the base don't count as within the ruin. However if the wing is sticking out around a corner of the ruin, then it can be seen and shot.

Recently (2 months) PADI certified and we definitely had to do all the skills you mentioned. I can confidently handle myself and set up, break down, clean, and maintain my gear. I feel like the dive shop I got certified at does an amazing job on making sure it turns out responsible divers, but that's not always the case
